Does this product melt in a hot car like regular Vick’s vapo rub? I live in the desert and gets up to 120 degrees. I want to leave it in my car.

This is not like the others. It is more a wick in the center with some oil in the bottom. I lived in Arizona and used them but I didn't leave them in the car as I carried it in my purse, but I don't see why you couldn't leave it in the car. They work well and all I can say is to try them. They work well.

What do you use the oil container side for?

You can apply the oil to your temples and wrists.

I've long destroyed the package, but on the individual tube there is no expiration date. I've had mine since 2011 and they are still kicking. I believe if you keep them tightly closed the scent remains strong. Hope this helps.

How are these any different than the small Vicks inhalers?

almost similar but this one has an oil that you can put on your head when you have headaches.
