It’s amazing how well this works and how simple it is to use
This Smart-Splitter is awesome so far. I was admittedly skeptical, but tried this based on reviews and the reasonable price. I have owned two Sun Joe + Snow Joe manual splitters and one Sun Joe + Snow Joe electric splitter, so that’s my point of comparison. All three of the Sun Joe + Snow Joe splitters broke after only a short time using them and none would not split logs like the Logosol in terms of size and efficiency. I really hope the Logosol will last, it does seem sturdy and well constructed (will update the review if it does not). I am amazed at how easy it is to split logs with this device. Setting it up was simple too, I installed it in an old tree stump from a large pine we had removed. Some reviews talked about over sizing the hole based on the drill bit provided, but I did not have any issue, just keep your drill steady and you will be fine.

Excellent splilter, safe to use, BUY IT!!!
I'm a 58 year old man, I'm not an expert on splitting wood, but this baby is both safe and easy to use. What I like is the safety of this tool. It holds your wood upright, it makes it safe to split. I've split pieces 16" dia. (maybe bigger) with minimal problem. Minimal meaning it took several "thrusts" from the hammer part of this Smart Splitter to get it split. I've begun to combine the Smart Splitter along with a wedge and a small sledge to get my bigger pieces split. But... it is VERY SAFE to split wood this way!! I would add, wear long pants. I've had some split pieces fall and scrape my leg, no biggie, but learn from my experience. This splitter gives excellent control, allowing me to split pieces to very small parts for my fire-pit. I can keep splitting until it's down to the size I want, and all the time... it's SAFE!! I still have ALL MY FINGERS!!!My nylon washer, the part between the hammer and the main splitter, was beginning to crack. So, I emailed Bailey's (who I bought from) and they sent me a replacement nylon washer (no charge), along with the 2 steel washer and rubber spacer that goes on your main log. (look at instructions for more detail) Excellent support!I highly recommend this tool, especially if you are worried about the safety of using a wedge and sledge. This WILL NOT deflect off any angles... it can not deflect from the wood you are splitting!! SAFE!! SAFE!! SAFE!!!Did I mention it's safe? Also, it gives me a good workout. Yes, this does require effort, but the entire time it is safe. So, I get wood split to the size I want, I get a good workout, and I still have all my fingers to type this opinion!!I hope you feel as good as I do about this splitter. I enjoy it so much I've even split "extra" wood for my neighbors fire-pit. He was surprised to see a stack of split wood by his fire-pit.If I forgot to mention it, I think this is a safe tool to use...Buy it, split wood, be safe and... BURN, BABY BURN!!!If you have questions, feel free to ask me. I'll be happy to reply. But be patient... I might be out splitting more wood. Now, there was a BIG branch down a couple blocks away... FREE FIREWOOD!!!

Meets expectations for intended use for this retired person.
Simple to use tool functions as expected. While some effort is needed to split logs, most dried wood already halved or quartered splits relatively easy. I didn’t want to invest in a gas splitter, and had doubts about an electric one. My need was to further split some logs or make kindling. Gets the job done. Would recommend for similar intended use, or an application were power is not available.

Best splitter for someone with physical limitations.
I searched the internet for a safe way to split wood. Many products were very expensive. Very few were safe and actually caused pain spitting wood.SetupThen I found the Logosol Smart Splitter. This splitter is very safe and doesn't hurt or cause pain to use it. It was very easy to assemble. It was easy to setup initially. When I'm done splitting logs I removed it from the hole and stored it for later use.Personal experience with the productSplitting logs were very easy to split. Some logs did take more effort than others to split. It was definitely worth the purchase price paid. I am disabled and I had no problems using this product to split wood. I would highly recommend it to someone with physical challenges or someone who is unable to use an axe or maul safely. My only dislike about the productThe setup requires a big log or stump. Finding a big log is very difficult. We had major storms in the area recently. I'm unable to operate a chainsaw safely. This made it difficult to find a log. I finally found a log already cut.

It works!!! hard/soft wet /dry
first off...i am a wood burner...5+ cords a winter. The guy i buy from has one of those automated cutter splitter conveyor thingys and the center wood is 8x 8 more or less...too big for anything but a blaze (our stoves don't blaze). i tried small cast iron hand splitter and it cried send me back after the first whack.. I saw this, reviews were either high or low and i thought id give it a try....well to my surprise,it works, it really works. one or two good whacks and voila a split log. on a 8+inch x 16" hardwood it took 5 hits. i am no mr america..if it works for me it'll work for youhighly recommended

Great tool
This is my second splitter. The first one was passed on in great shape. Very easy to use on dry wood. That’s the key. It will split wetter less seasoned logs but it will take awhile and it may get stuck on the log. A couple of whacks with a hammer on the log will get it to release. Love the sliding hammer - very smooth and a good little work out too. Love this thing.
