20 oz Homax 4092 Wall Texture Interior Aerosol Orange Peel Water-Based Wall Texture

This texture spray works well and creates a nice orange peel finish once you get the hang of it. It's convenient for repairing small patches and blends reasonably well with existing wall texture. It does take a little practice to get the spray pattern just right, and I recommend testing it on a piece of cardboard first. Overall, it's a useful product that saved me time, and I'd buy it again for small repair jobs.

For me: (1) placed cans in warm water for 5 min. (2) shook for 2 min, using a second hand clock, (3) practiced outside, briefly, first to get feel, (3) held can 12-16", circular motion (surprisingly, not much overspray from that distance), (4) used the light setting, then multiple passes, (5) 5 cans covered 50 sq. ft., (5a) MEDIUM texture, NOT AS BOLD as photo indicates, it will mostly disappear when painted, (6) the first "spit" out of the can was onto a piece of cardboard in my other hand, then smooth dispersal for the rest of the can, (7) 2 hours to dry completely. I would use this again in a heartbeat.

This works VERY WELL. I watch several videos on how to use. Shake the can for 10minutes. Then spray on a piece of cardboard first to get the product going through the nozzle. Put on finest at first and test to see how it compares to the wall you are fixing. Spray in circles and about 10" away. use short spurts. Blended perfect after priming. Make certain to prime after it has hardened and scrap off any excessive texture with a 6" putty knife. I can now perfectly match my wall texture.

Finishing up a room in the house, had it adjusted to high and got some splatter, but once I dialed it back down everything worked great with good coverage. Simple to use can

Ok I read all the Negative reviews. I own a painting business, I use a lot of Homax water base texture. There are things you must do. First make sure you shake the can for at least 3 minutes and I mean shake it up good you should hear the bearing rattle as you shake. I warm the can up under the tap with warm water which really helps !! Make sure you spray a squirt on a piece of card board to get it started before spraying on the wall ! Turn dial to the right all the way if you want fine texture or in between for different size texture I have used hundreds of cans ,so I am used to using this product. I don’t recommend oil based texture as it dries fast but when you paint over it once it’s dry it never looks as good as water based texture. Hope this helps this is a really great product, make sure you spray two feet back from wall you are texturing and don’t soak the wall do small spurts Try it on a piece of card board first to get a feel for pressure and size of texture you pick with dial.

I should have read the reviews on here first as I usual do on everything I buy, but I thought what could go wrong with something like this? Famous last words right? I also should have bought this at Home Depot as I would have been able to return it. This product can't be returned via Amazon. Waste of money! SAVE YOUR MONEY! Like others stated, nozzle broke as soon as the safety tab was removed. I tried over & over to re-attach the nozzle & spray. It just drizzled out in a constant mess of liquid. What a complete ripoff. Amazon states you can't return this because it is of a hazardous material, etc., yet they have no problem shipping it to you. Hmm? UPDATE: How does Homax get away with selling this junk? I decided to go to Home Depot's website last night & check out their reviews on this product as well. Nothing but negative reviews. I guess if we as customers keep buying this product, they will keep selling them. You'd think Homax would want to improve their product. Again, save your money as it can't be returned through Amazon or you can find out the hard way like I did.

I purchased this to apply texture to a drywall area that had been repaired. The first can I used (purchased through Amazon) work perfectly and the orange peel texture matched very closely to the remaining area of the wall. Since my walls have a very light texture, I tested the spray patterns and selected the lightest spray and then followed the directions of heating the can in hot water to make the spray pattern even lighter as that is what I needed for my walls. It worked perfectly. The second can (purchased from Home Depot as I needed it the same day) was another story. I followed the exact same process of testing the spray, dialing it down to a lighter spray, heating the can and testing again. Everything was great until I started spraying the drywall and the flimsy nozzle came loose and it started spraying big lumps. I had to wipe off the texture (and you simply can't get 100% of it off) and there was nothing I could do to fix the nozzle so the can would work. The problem is the flimsy spray nozzle that incorporates the nozzle as well as the dial to select the spray pattern. While I felt it was flimsy with the first can (and I handled it gingerly) it did work. The design seems flawed and the nozzle does not appear to be securely attached. Also, I know it was not an issue that I got someone else's reject (which can be a problem with returns at stores like Home Depot) as there is a tab on top that you need to remove before the can will spray (and on my can the tab was intact). I am forced to buy another can as I need to finish the area and hope I do not experience the same issue.

Can did not come with the nozzle.
