AXESS TVD1801-13 13.3-Inch LED HDTV, Features 12V Car Cord Technology, VGA/HDMI/SD/USB Inputs, Built-In DVD Player, Full Function Remote

With the kitchen remodeled, a TV was needed to replace the TV used before the remodeling. This 13.3 in. Axess TV is just right as it takes up only a little space on the new counter, leaving lots of space for typical kitchen items and use.The picture, as viewed from the kitchen table (strait on and slightly off on the side) is large enough and as good as the other TV's in the house. The local over air digital channels broadcast in HD and they show extremely well. This TV is a big improvement over the TV that it replaced.Some reviews we read before buying had us concerned about picture and sound quality. Once up and running in the kitchen, our concerns about the Axess TV were immediately dismissed.This TV provides a very good option for watching TV in an area or room where medium to larger TVs do not fit or take up too much space. In a space or room that can only accommodate a small screen the viewer is close enough to the TV and the TV may be easily placed so that the picture is viewed from the best angle (i.e. strait on or slightly to either side). The Axess 13.3-inch LED Full HD TV exactly met our needs for a TV in our the remodeled kitchen. We are very pleased with our choice.

I received the package & it looked like it was open & returned for some reason. After setting up the 13" TV & connecting a digital antenna. I found the picture was very clear, a larger version of my Cell Phone picture, and is visible from any place in the room. If the signal strength was strong the sound was very load. There are many adjustments that can be made to the picture quality, sound quality, Auto Channel Scan, Clock adjustments, & input sources. I was able to pull in 33 different free channels. I connected it to my old VHS player with VGA connectors picture looks great. Tried out my old DVD player HDMI connector & picture looks great. I connected the sound up to an external sound system, using the Left & Right sound outputs and the sound works great. I am not fond of vertical DVD players, but I tried out the builtin DVD player, it works great, the picture & sound was great, has simulated surround sound. I tried out an analog security camera connected to the Video input, picture looks great. My only disappointment was I was I wanted an output signal to connect to an external record DVD player to record TV programs & Security Camera. The TV has only inputs no outputs. This is a great TV, I plan on getting another one for my other rooms, perhaps larger.

We have had ours for 3 months now and it is working very well. As others have noted the sound quality is not great due to the small speakers but it is adequate. Sound quality is quite good on a headphone and I imagine would be even better with external speakers. On center picture quality is good but degrades when viewed off-center. Tilt angle is import and is adjustable. Our tilt bracket was very tight so to avoid possibly damaging the plastic foot support I temporarily unscrewed it and adjusted the tilt bracket with a pliers. The TV fits inside a corner cabinet in our kitchen and we are very pleased with it.

I don't have cable or other TV hookup, so my sole interest was in having a decent screen on which to watch my collection of DVDs. I can't speak to any other possible features, but this unit is more than adequate to my needs. The picture is good, crisp. The sound resolution isn't quite what I had on my previous unit...but neither does the DVD player sound like a jet taking off and only play the DVDs when it feels like it! The DVD player is sleek and quiet. Delivery was on schedule. The remote is easy to use. Assembly was simple. So far, I am very satisfied with this purchase!

So far it seems to work just okay. There are a couple of issues, though:1. This TV is small and skinny, so the sound is small and tinny and for me, it was just irritating. 1a. The tiny speakers in a skinny frame with no cabinet to move any sound waves around just kills it. It's not serious enough to be a problem since I'm using it in the kitchen; it's just the right size to mount under the cabinets. To help fix the "irritating" sound, I connected a small MP3 player sound box (left over from when I used it to listen to a dedicated MP3 player) to the Headphone jack. 1b. I also installed one of these TVs in my small travel trailer. To work around the tinny sound, I connected the TV's Headphones jack to the trailer's factory-installed 4-speaker auto stereo sound system's AUX input through an A-B box, and added a small sub woofer (also left over from the MP3 sound box). So, select "TV" at the A-B box, TV on, 4 speaker stereo on, nice TV, nice sound. You get my point: add some kind of external sound box or bar.2. Sometimes when I turn it on, the picture is horribly distorted. When this happens, all I have to do is turn it off and back on again (reboot) and it's fine for the rest of the day.3. The picture is, for the most part, fine but it does tend to lean toward a slight, red glow, but not too bad. Attempts to adjust the hue helps, but that also tends to pull back the other colors as well.For the price, this TV is just fine, and with all the other inputs and computer monitor output, it's versatile enough.

This is a perfect TV for kitchen counter (where I have it). The picture rendition is some of the best HD I have seen even in larger sets. The sound is tinny, but after all this is a small TV and not expensive. I got a set of inexpensive computer speakers that are powered by USB. Placed them directly in back of the TV (where they are invisible) in a corner on the counter and the sound is better than most larger sets (very full bass and clear speech)..

This is a very cool little unit. I tested this with a popular movie on DVD. The picture was great, there was no jerkiness and I could hear well with the sound at about 30 (max is 100). The picture needs to be viewed within about 10 degrees of perpendicular for optimal color.The TV is true 12V, which is hard to find (especially here on Amazon!). I have not yet tested the current draw, and will make an effort to post here. It is too bad that Axess has not taken the time to do this for us. I will also post an update after the TV has been in use.The only negative is that the DVD player is quite loud while loading; a minor complaint.

The picture quality is good however the sound is very weak, you have to have it turned to maximum and even that is weak. A bit disappointed as the cost was the same as the top name brands. Choose this one because we needed a centre stand for where it was going.
