Great sturdy paddle! I've had it 4 a year now. As I understand most do not come with the padded hand grips...I find this is NeCeSSaRy! It's durable and well built and another bonus... even made in the USA. Much nicer than others I've used and a bargain at the price. The only thing is mine is Gold VS the silver pictured *which I'd rather have had... but obviously we care about function 1st, aesthetics 2nd.Update - July 30, 2016: 5 years later & it's still going strong! I can't imagine using 1 without the built in grip padding! Now over the years i have used others, including a niiiiiiiiice carbon fiber paddle which was super duper light and certainly increased speed (but expensive- VERY and delicate 2 take care of). So yes, this is far heavier but as part of the reason I kayak is wanting exercise, I think this is a great thing. Again it's super sturdy. After all this time & much use only the rubber rings have slight wear from pressure of having the boat atop it during transport. The paddles with all plastic have broken on me and the take apart plastic ones break quick and easy, always at the connectors which is y i love this one so much, no chance of that!Only drawback I can find is that I never take it apart...but when I have tried 2, I really haven't been able 2, seems 2 b locked in place after I push the button down. which 4 me is actually ok since I don't really need 2 break it down. I have never had the button accidentally stay down like another reviewer mentioned so I think their may b defective.4 sure, I'd purchase this 1 again in a heartbeat! I really hope this helps u! I would have loved this paddle if it didn't have such a huge shaft. Made in the USA paddle with an aluminium shaft and the paddle shape I prefer it could have gotten 5 stars if the shaft wasn't so heavyv and the circumference so much more than a regular paddle. Perhaps a strong man with large hands works have been able to use this?

I really have no complaints about this paddle. It has an adjustable lock in the middle that changes the angle of the paddle fins and drip deflectors, though I imagine that is standard in most two-piece paddles. My favorite thing is that it's matchingly portable with my inflatible kayak. I deliberately wanted portability as my vehicle has no roof rack.For the money, it was well priced and functional, but not necessary an exceptional piece that deserved 5 stars.

Great Paddles for our Kayaks! I bought these for the price as this is our first kayaks we didn't want to spend a ton of money. They turned out great, nice grips, drip guards. I'm impressed with the quality and being made in the USA. shipped very quickly.

This paddle is nice and sturdy, but not too heavy! Great price and as always a wonderful transaction through Amazon. My only issue with the paddle is where the foam handholds are...hopefully I'll be able to move them. All in all a great paddle for the money!!

These are very good. The only problem I had was the little button that locks the paddles in place when you put them together doesn't always pop up. This means they don't lock I place. A major problem when you are in the middle of a river!

Great paddles..easy to put together and lightweight. It's nice to have the foam grips on them as well, which apparently don't come with most other paddles. Nice product, especially for the recreational kayaker. And for the newbie, just make sure you pay some attention to the fact that paddles have different lengths, so figure out what size is best for you based on your boat diameter before purchasing.

The paddle does the trick. It is a bit heavy though. The gold you see in the picture is really dull compared to how flashy the real product is. This paddle isn't a bad product for the price but I will likely buy a higher quality one soon and keep this as a back-up.
