In 1349, Roman Emperor and Bohemian (Czech) King, Charles IV discovered the wondrous geyser and hot springs forever famed as Carlsbad, "The Pearl" of international spas. Continental society later savored a second discovery in 1787: The Carlsbad Oblaten, truly a gem of dessert wafers, blessed with a crisp delicacy and flavor unrivaled for centuries. The Original Carlsbad Oblaten remains a dessert delicacy whose flavor is as singular and distinctive as its history. For more than 200 years The Original Carlsbad Oblaten recipe has been a jealously guarded secret, held closely by one family in each generation. The ingredients are all-natural and all the same as when the Carlsbad Oblaten was first perfected. Two thin wafer rounds, exactly 17.5 centimeters across, fused and filled with a delicate confection of pounded almonds, unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and natural flavorings. No preservatives are used or needed.

Had this years ago and ordered because I liked it. The only problems was it was dropped during shipping because when I opened the can, it was all in little pieces.

Not the same as the German oblaten
Most of the cookies were broken when they arrived. There was not much filling to the cookies. Not the same as the oblaten I ate in Germany.

Chocolate Carlsbad Wafers
These chocolate wafers are very tasty. You can barely taste the chocolate. Great with coffee or tea.

Don't waste your money.
Quite a few of the wafers arrived broken/fragmented.The wafers tasted dry and with little flavor.I threw them in my trash can. They were a waste of my money. The original "Stroopwafels" I like and will continue buying them, but never again never again these dog biscuits, and I feel sorry for the dogs that were fed with these.

EXCEPT they all came broken into pieces and I couldn't serve them to guests.

Broken Cookies
The cookies taste great, but almost all of them were broken.I spent $30 on one small tin of cookies to offer at a tea party.Since they were broken I had to make my own. So I was verydisappointed.
