so I don't know what would work better for the price
We are 1st year chicken owners and this was our first coop. We live in the midwest, so colder winter climates. We've had this coop since Spring, and it's....okay. Not sure how it will fare in the winter.I haven't bought another chicken coop before, so I don't know what would work better for the price. Love that it includes the run - we started with the girls' food in the coop and that was a mess. We added bars to hold food and water in the run and that worked out great. Wish the company offered suggestions like this in the instructions. We have 6 chickens - 2 Iso Browns, one Iso Wyandote, 2 Easter eggers, and a Leghorn. I like the pull out drawers, though they are already rusting under the moisture of chicken droppings (and our initial food/water misstep). The description says the coop fits 12-18 chickens - maybe if you were raising (insert inorganic unholy chicken producer here) chickens. :/ I can't fathom the amount of waste that 12-18 chickens would produce in this small space and how one would keep up with it - or what it would be like to remove all that waste after the cold winter months where you're supposed to leave the waste and layer additional straw and wood chips on top to help keep them warm. The perches are only about 6" above the floor of the coop, so it wouldn't take long before they were perching in their own stuff. Ick.In talking to more serious chicken farmers, they give the coop a good power washing in the fall and prepare for chicken poop carnage in the winter. I'm not sure how this little coop, even with the nice coat of waterproofing sealant the instructions recommend, would hold up to a power washing. She's about as thick as a 5 gal paint stick. I'm afraid a power wash might seem much like Hurricane Katrina. It is a cute design, with the cute little window on the door opposite the run. However, the 'glass' in the door is so cheap that my 25 lb dog broke it when she was greeting her new friends. Not sturdy. Like most coops under $1,000, it is made of very thin wood construction. Hubby and his Gorilla glue seemed to assemble things pretty much as instructed, but so far TWO (not one) of the wheels sheared off at the weld. The first time we contacted the company and sent a replacement without any hassle....we'll see how they do this time. If they aren't cooperative, I guess we'll just have to be that chicken owning family with its house up on blocks. It's not like there's a faulty chicken coop wheel repair store down the street.Let's talk hardware. It's as hard wearing as that paint stick. It appears the company was trying to save a dime or two here as well. The thin little hardware comes with tiny little screws that after a while of chicken life get out of kilter and sometimes hard to open and close. THAT should be fun in the winter.So. At the end of the day, the review is....EH. Super cute design, seemed like a lot of space for the money, and the 6 girls that are living there seem very happy. The downside - cheap construction, I fear for the winter, and I'm thinking they are definitely going to need a 'move up' home.

AN EXPENSIVE DISAPPOINTING MISTAKE....READ THIS REVIEW
First of all both Coop and run are smaller than advertised - but ESPECIALLY THE COOP. The description says 64"L x 53"W x 44" H - NOT BY A LONG SHOT. The actual outside measurements of the coop is 59"L x 35"W x 38" H - so 24" smaller in space than advertised. tHAT IS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF SPACE.As far as this being sized for 12 Chickens? Really maybe pullets - but you'd get maybe 8 full sized chickens in this coop comfortably. Based on their description we bought 10 regular chicks (Leghorns, Rhoadie Reds, Stars, Orphingtons) and 4 Bantam chicks - so once they were almost grown enough to move to the coop we put it together...SO VERY DISAPPOINTING.Both ends of the coop and the doors were broken in multiple places - RIDICULOUSLY SHOTTY PACKAGING - zero padding - only a thin tissue paper - really? Why even bother wasting paper? We tried to repair all the broken peices as best we could - but it still looks crappy and busted up with large pieces of splintered wood pieces that were too many, small and difficult to glue together. Then once together we were sickened to see it was way smaller than advertised. We ended up having to buy a second coop, special fencing and have to build a gate to put the two together with the run into a cohesive system for our one flock. We spent so much more money and invested so much more time and labor than we should have had to. Thanks so much. The run is fine and only slightly smaller - 77"L x 35"W x 39"H instead of the advertised 77"L x 36"W x 42"H.This CC Only CC-32-R2 Chicken Coop Hens House is CERTAINLY NOT worth the $750.00 we paid. We really feel ripped off.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

This is what I expected that I would receive.
Could not ship at the time requested due to unavailable at the time of ordering. However, for my trouble they offered me $100.00 back or a second run. I took the second run, and my chickens really like it. My son put the coop together and I put the run together. Instructions were easy to follow. Not sure where the wood/water sealer was supposed to be used, though. This is never brought up in the directions. Most parts went together well except for the triangle piece above the end square piece on the run. There is a gap between the two pieces. : (

Very nice chicken Coop
The chicken coop looks very nice, however it is made out of really thin wood, I hope it lasts a long time. It is quite easy to assemble between two persons. You have to seal it after assembling it.The delivery took a long time even though after a few days my order showed a tracking number. I had to write to the seller to ask to what company the number belonged to so I could track it. When he answered he told me that it wouldnt be shipped till the end of the month. I placed my order on May 9 and it showed that it would be delivered by May 22 the latest. I waited and wrote back because the tracking number didn't show anything. They said it had been picked up that day, a couple of days later still the tracking number showed as invalid and wrote again to find out it hadn't been shipped, they gave me a new tracking number with a different company and this time I was able to track it. I didn't received the coop until mid June. While the product is ok, the seller needs to better their service and make sure they give you the correct information.
