I love my meat slicer
I was surprised at the quality of this machine. I'm always looking for an opportunity to use it. I usually slice cooked meat but sometimes I use raw. It is relatively easy to clean. I keep a handy container of vinegar on my counter and use that to wipe the slicer down. The thinner the slices the more tender and tasty the sandwich. It is worth the price. The one drawback is that a home meat slicer is rather a luxury item and not used as much as most other kitchen machines so you won't want it sitting on your counter full time unless you have a lot of available space. If you are like me, there is not nearly enough room to station all the electronic, kitchen gadgets I like to use... but the meat slicer is one of my favorites.

This is a great little slicer
This is a great little slicer. I sliced a ham in no time at all. Fairly easy clean up. I had my doubts when I saw how slow the blade seemed to be turning, but wow, no problem! It's perfect for the price. For the few people who did complain about it, go spend a couple hundred, you will probably complained about those too! This fits the bill, I am not going to slice meats for a deli, it's for personal use. Very happy with my purchase.

Works great, but doesn't see a ton of use
Don't get me wrong... I LOVE this thing. It works great, but it has a few flaws that see me using it less than I'd like to. For one thing, it's not amazing at gripping the meat, especially if it's not a huge piece that takes up the majority of the... plate? The spot where the meat goes. When you do have it set in a sturdy spot, it shaves it well, although it can sometimes miss a little at the end of the cut. All in all, you're not going to get slices this thin and even ANY other way, and you're DEFINITELY not getting them this quick using a knife. That being said, the other issue is cleanup... cleanup is kind of a b**ch. Little meat crumbs get EVERYWHERE in this thing, and you basically have to take it apart to clean it every time you use it. Not a huge deal if you're slicing a LOT of meat, but if you're just doing a little... the overall time would have been quicker with a knife. Again, though, you have to weight your pros and cons. In all likelihood, next time I smoke some brisket, I'll be using this to slice it. Next time I marinate a pork loin... probably not.

Premium, Precise Slicer
Let me start by saying that the majority of my meal consist of Chef's Salads with LOTS of stuff in them. One essential ingredient is Red/Purple sweet onion. And no matter how hard I tried, I could never slice the onion to my desired thickness and and consistency. This resulted in much tedious work and usually a lot of waste and I hate to waste ANYTHING. This slicer has taken a major stress point out of my life. I couldn't be happier and don't know why I didn't make this purchase a long time ago. I just received it in the last 30 days, so I haven't had a chance to experiment or try it on other things. But I can already see how I can save $$$$ on buying meat in bulk sizes (whole not sliced) , saving money just on the bulk purchase, then saving money on slicing it just the way I want it and not wasting anything due to inconsistent slicing and I have some of the best cutlery you can buy. This is a must have for anyone that needs and appreciates precision, accuracy and saving money. I can already see that this product is going to pay for itself. Get ya one and "get-er-done"!!!!! -:) Have a Blessed New Year, Bear

Works, but....
Received this nearly three weeks ago. When I opened the box I found the packing material dirty and greasy-looking, and the actual Slicer had fingerprints all over it, suggesting to me that it was used and/or returned. I contacted Amazon with questions and was directed to the company, whom I contacted and nearly three weeks later I have not received a response. I contacted the company through an address given by Amazon and directly through the company site when I registered the Slicer. I never received an acknowledgment of my registration, either. The Slicer is actually 180 Watts, my reason for ordering. It slices turkey ham nicely, with slight binding this morning, and an older, softer, Russett potato with even more binding. I did not notice binding when I first used it to slice the turkey ham roll. I used it again this morning, but decided to keep it and just not push it beyond its limit. Don't try to slice too fast. The blade is easily removed for cleaning, and the sliding table can be turned back to facilitate cleaning as well. I had to eyeball the width of the slice desired as the guage is a bit iffy, but adjustable. The gears are plastic, of course, and will no doubt strip if slicing is forced. (America has a love affair with plastic, ruining what could otherwise be a quality appliance.) The item has already dropped $12 in price since I purchased it, but that's life. Overall, it is a nice Slicer and should suit my purposes. I certainly am able to get more slices from the turkey ham roll because of the consistency of each slice compared to slicing with just a knife. I tried slicing an onion (so-so). My primary desire is to use it to slice luncheoned meats, and perhaps homemade bread. I wanted to know if a different blade was available, but have received no response to that question either. I doubt it. I'm disappointed at the response from Amazon, but even more so from not hearing from the company. I suspect quality control and customer service is not on the company's list or priorities.

Cool appliance
Great price for such a cool addition to the kitchen! I got this to make evenly sliced meat for making beef jerky but the possibilities are endless. It cuts Italian bread perfectly for french toast. The blad doesn't spin turbo fast but it works well. You don't force the food thru the blade, press lightly and let it cut through. It's not slow but it's not like you see the deli in a grocery store with the commercial slicer. I recommend this product.

Motor burned up after about 5 uses!
I got this with low expectations, and I was still disappointed. The first thing that I noticed was that the thickness dial did not stay in the same place while in use, and the back plate would flex and get wider as the slice of meat was fed through the blade, resulting in a tapered cut. The second thing I noticed was the motor would get really hot really fast. The second time I used it, I had about 8 lbs of meat to slice and after about the 6th lb the motor got so hot that the rpm started slowing down, so I turned it off to let it cool and that's when I noticed a little bit of smoke coming from the motor housing. I only got about 3 more uses out of it after that before it just died. So in conclusion, if you only plan on using this slicer to cut about a pound or two of food once every couple of months, it might last. But if you plan to use it any more than that. Save your money and time and just spend the money and get a good one!

Excellent and Easy to Use!
I cooked a whole turkey the other day. I love turkey sandwiches from the white meat, but slicing is so cumbersome with a knife. I used this with the white meat from the turkey, I refrigerated the meat for a day, then took it out to slice. It was so easy to operate, I used #3 to slice, the sandwiches came out so much more flavorful when cutting thin and stacked. I cut all the white meat and bagged portions for later. The clean up is easy once you know what to do and it was a breeze. I love this. I have been looking for one for years but unable to find one in my budget. Now I can buy a whole ham, or a nice beef roast, and slice my heart away for many sandwiches. I used to dread slicing meats for sandwiches because I cant get them thin enough, they are misshapen, and not portioned. this slicer is a dream. Thanks!

Love it! Great quality and so much better than ...
Love it! Great quality and so much better than my old foldable rival meat slicer. Love that this is all metal and when i adjust the thickness guide it stays where i put it. Well worth the price. Update: still love my slicer but if you are going to be slicing much hard cheese i would suggest going with a different one with a stronger motor. This will slice the cheese but if its very cold the motor seems to struggle a bit and you have to go quite slowly. I will keep this one as long as it lasts me but in the future would buy one with a stronger motor.
