FEL-PRO TCS 45993 Engine Timing Cover Gasket Set for Chevrolet Silverado 1500

My daughter's Tahoe had an AFM lifter fail. So, I decided to do a DOD/AFM delete because it was likely the other lifters would be more failing soon, too. I decided to gather all of the parts necessary vs buying a pre-assembled kit. I didn't cheap out on quality and still saved ~$130 over the TSP kit with fewer necessary parts. After tuning out the AFM, the Tahoe started right away and ran like new with no ticking and no CEL.

Great replacement part will buy them again if ever need great Quality, Value Durability and fit and easy install no leakage so far.

So far I haven't installed the set yet but after opening and inspecting everything I am thoroughly impressed with the number of main caskets and seals that came in this kit, I was only expecting what was pictured above but there was so many more, not only that but there were multiple versions so you have a choice of gaskets to use, the only gasket that didn't have duplicates was the engine front cover gasket and the crankshaft seal but there are more then enough gaskets and even some I didn't expect or think I would need but looks like I will need after all so if your rebuilding anything on the front of the engine this kit should cover it.... Everything just looks and feels of high quality and has a lot more items then listed and pictured

These gaskets are a universal fit for the GMT-800 generation of 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0L engines. I installed this on a 99 2500 non-HD with the cast iron head LQ4 block. Nice to have spare felt water pump gaskets on hand should I ever need to replace a pump on a rainy day.

Fits as designed and sealed the cover as intended,on my 2008 Silverado although the crankshaft seal was a bit deformed upon arrival and I had to order a replacement. Depending on your situation you may need to apply some rtv sealant on the corners where it meets the oil pan. Costs less than the oem parts and seem to be of factory quality if not a little better. Installation is easy once you remove the harmonic balancer ( was not an easy task) in my case I needed an impact tool considering the main shaft bolt on my truck cane torqued to 240 ft-lbs and required a special tool to lock the flywheel in place to keep the crank from turning during removal and installation of the harmonic balancer

Best brand on the market, and as an added bonus has the spacer for centering the front cover and seal before you torque the front cover bolts. No need to buy the expensive front cover seal centering cone. Just install the front cover bolts on finger tight to allow movement, install the plastic centering cone, torque the front cover bolts and lastly the two oil pan bolts and you are good to go.

Great set. Installed new Melling oil pump, Gates water pump and Gates thermostat and housing at the same time. Been driving for 2 weeks since install and no leaks or problems so far. Very happy.
