Awesome product for fixing my failed 7' garage door cable - with some tips...
I ordered this pair of cables to replace a similar cable on my 7' tall single residential garage door. My door originally had 2 of these cables on either side of the door - one of which snapped last weekend and almost took my eye out in the process. I measured the door and found this replacement pair on Amazon and ordered due to 1. Price 2. speed of delivery 3. other amazon reviews which stated that hardware stores usually carry a smaller diameter cable than this.Installation: I performed the replacement myself in about 20 minutes but I'd say having a helper isn't a bad idea. The instructions (included in the box) say this but let me reiterate: make sure you unplug your garage door first! Also may be helpful for some of you to know that you'll need 2 C-Clamps in order to do the installation. If you don't have them either buy or borrow so they'll be ready when this arrives. The C-Clamps are used to "block" the door in the fully upright position for performing the install of the new cable. They keep the door from slamming closed while you're working on it. You might also put a flat screwdriver in your pocket to help you fit the "loop" end over the peg at the bottom of your door. You might be able to fiddle with it enought to get it over the head of the peg but a flat screwdriver would really help. Also, maybe obvious but get yourself a step stool so you're not trying to do this from the ground - unless you're a basketball player...All in all - great product, easy install, fast shipping, thank you amazon!

Easy to instal
this is, at least, the third time I needed to replace the Cable on my 40-yr old Garage Door Springs. Easy to install and works well. Could have found at local Lowes but with COVID I am limiting the # of places I go.

Heavy duty cables
Appear to be high quality. Installed easily on existing springs. Cable is about 4' or more longer than necessary, but not a problem. Installed cable clamps to assure good connections

Easy fix for 19 year old Wayne Dalton garage door
One day I noticed that one of our garage doors was no longer closing flat against the concrete floor, and after inspecting things I found one of the two cable frayed a bit where it attached to the wind-up drum. Purchased these cables and carefully marked a point on both that would allow a little more wrap on the drums with the door closed, and after about an hour or so I had both cables replaced and the door working as new again. These cables are made of some tough steel as you would expect (they're a challenge to cut without the proper tools), they're priced well, and I'll use them again if any of our other doors develop a problem.

Used to replace broken cable
I have a 9' wide by 7' tall, 4 panel residential garage door with one of these cables running up either side if the door, over a pulley, to a linear spring with a pulley on the end, and then tied to the garage door track. There are two ways to replace one of these cables when it breaks, ranked from best to worst1 - Cut away the remnants of the broken cable. It will be attached to the guide wheel axle at the bottom of the door. Put the loop end around the axle, keeping in mind that the garage door is going to have to come out of the tracks to allow the guide wheel axle to come out of it's bracket if you can't get the bracket off of the door panel. If you're going to do all of that work, you might as well replace both cables. Take lots of pictures before you tear everything apart.2. If your garage door is 30 years old like mine and needs to be replaced, but not right now, you can make a loop around the axle using the existing crimped eye on the new cable. Make sure the loop "lays" towards the back of the door. Then run the rest of the cable like the one that isn't broken. You'll be done & back watching the game in 15 minutes, but the repair might only be good for 3-5 years before it breaks again. Make sure the door is "up" and blocked when you're running the new cable. You'd have figured that out on your own.

Great product
This is a great product. Make sure you install as was professionally done before to prevent any safety issues. You don’t want any broken springs flying around your garage causing immense damage

Excellent cables with all the pieces
Had a spring break and punch a hole in the wall. Put on new springs but wanted added safety so bought these to thread thru the springs in case they break again they will just stay on cable and not be a threat. Packed neatly with everything I needed. Installed in less than 10 min.

3/32 for Torquemaster garage door springs
The Torquemaster type springs requires 3/32" cable not the 1/8" ones that are more common. Had to cut these down as I have 7' high doors. Works great.

Okay
3 stars only because package looked open and retaped closed and the cables were a little dirty. Typically i wouldnt care but it didnt state anywhere that it was second hand or returned so rated it as tho it should have been brand new.Cables were solid and apparent damage. Worked for my manual 7ft tall garage door.
