Help Me, Jesus! I Have Nothing to Wear!: The Go-To Guide for All Shapes and Sizes

No holds barred, Ms. Braendel covers it all. And, I was glad to buy this particular book among her works, as it seems to be the 'core' from which some of her other books have drawn material. Don't be squeamish if you want to know the nitty gritty about fem things. Yes, it does really emphasize modesty, and the Christianity model. That's fine with me. This world's fashion designers are not necessarily concerned with letting me know how I can add a pop of color or character and also look a few pounds lighter, or accentuate a body part that is 'challenged'. All in all, I keep going back to it. The lists and checklists are easily something I can snap a cell phone pic of for shopping referral, and not have to waltz in a store with the book in-hand. Lots of anecdotal one-liners and phrases came to mind that I can keep as 'my own' focus power phrases: head to soul, wise wearable wardrobe... It's great and be sure (just like her hint-filled subscription emails) she won't mince words. It's been good over the years to see her work expand with related collaborations that add more to this previously limited arena of information.

I met Shari Brandel and had a session with her at Speak Up! conference and appreciate the knowledge she shared on how to dress to feel good as well appearing professional for speaking events or when ever you put yourself out publicly. I use my color swatches when shopping and putting outfits together. The book is my reminder of what styles look best on me. It is a very good guidebook.

This is an updated version of Good Girls Don't Have to Dress Bad, which is a personal reference book for me! So many great tips and advice in these two books, I highly recommend them. If you have "Good Girls", you will see a lot of similarities. The advice in this book and in Good Girls does not go out of style. I refer to each of them often. I also recommend getting the color swatches Shari has available on her website. I carry these with me all the time, and especially when shopping. The swatches have saved me from color mistakes and returns! At first I found myself trying to 'fit' into one body type over another, but if you are honest and follow the guidelines, the result will be clothes that look great on you and that you can feel good wearing. Great book!

Thank you Shari! Something that comes so natural to you, use to be a sheer terror to me. Now my tshirt and jean days are only when I want them to be instead of everyday. I feel so pretty and confident knowing an expert taught me how to dress. It's not quite second nature yet, so I'm keeping this book close at hand!

Lots of info. Much of it is probably good.But, Shari tends to write big long paragraphs. A few good pictures, a chart, and some swatches would help tell the story more than a few paragraphs of prose.

Great book! Easy to skim through and full of helpful information. However, I found out that this is basically the same book as another one of Shari's books, "Good Girls Don't Have to Dress Bad". I wish I had known that before I bought this. But I can always share a copy with a friend!

I was very disappointed that this book is a repackaged version of her former book Good Girls which I already owned. I liked the first book and took a chance to pre-order it. I'm disappointed in Amazon and in the author for not making this clear.

I knew this would be a good book because I am a big fan of the author and it did not disappoint! The title cracks me up, it's beautifully written and feels more like reading a fashion magazine. Colorful photos throughout the book

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the information Shari gave from colours to where to shop! I really liked the modesty section.
