Great soft recovery suit for Dogs/Cats to prevent scratching wounds/stitches!
I purchased this item to protect my beloved chihuahua’s wound after she had mammary surgery to have a tumor removed to prevent her from scratching out the stitches. To my utmost despair, she went into congestive heart failure a few days after the surgery and died before this item arrived. I donated it to the animal hospital that her vet worked at for someone else to use. It is a soft and nicely made recovery suit that is good for dogs & cats. If your cat or dog is scheduled for surgery, order this in advance so you have it available after surgery. FYI: Those cones (E-collar) do not prevent them from scratching the wounds with their paws or back legs! They only stop them from licking or biting them! They often can pull them off! My chihuahua had her surgery on 9/3/19. I ordered this on 9/5/19 and it arrived after she passed on 9/7/19! I wish I had gotten it in advance. The doctor said we needed to make sure the bandages and stitches stayed clean, dry and untouched. She wanted to scratch it and if she had the recovery suit she wouldn’t be able to get to it. We had to watch her 24/7 to stop her. I miss her so badly

Better than a cone! And super cute!
I tried making my own and failed miserably so I gave this company a shot for how cheap it was and how fast it could deliver and this recovery suit is perfect! It is light, it is soft, my cat is a little demon child when people try putting things on her esp now she’s sore but this was a breeze! It went on so fast she hardly had time to put up a fight and she’s a small cat but i bought her the large and it fit perfectly so get a size or two up from what you’d expect probably but this is cute and super functional she can use the bathroom in it etc. I am so glad I got this for her as she’s healing from being spayed.

Much better than the cone!
Our kitty had surgery on her abdomen and was sent home with a cone. This is so much better...It fits snug, but has stretch and is breathable. The design is great that it goes around the neck first, because I made a homemade onesie, just to tie our girl over until this arrived, but she got out of that one...several times! Once I put this on, she accepted it easily and seemed more content with this over the homemade one. There’s also plenty of room in the back opening, for her to go to the bathroom without it getting in the way.Two tips of advice: 1. Buy two just in case one gets soiled or dirty, so you have a backup; and 2. Consider washing it before putting it on, so the kitty’s skin doesn’t absorb the dyes.I would only dry this on low-heat, or let it air dry...a hand washing and a blow dryer is a quick fix if you’re in a bind and only have one.If you have a persistent cat that is trying to get at the wound (through the onesie), try a non-adhesive sterile bandage on the inside of the onesie, and change it daily to keep the wound clean and free of bacteria. It helps to create an extra amount of padding to keep them from getting at the stitches.I recommend this highly, as it’s much much better than a cone and keeps the kitties from licking at their bellies...and they’re not miserable, and can sleep better, which is really important when the need to heal.

Too Small
This seemed like a nice option to keep my cat's esophageal tube in place against his body (so he wouldn't pull it out), but unfortunately it was way too small for him. It was short by at least 3". He is a bigger cat, lean but tall and long, at 12 lbs. It fit his girth ok, but it would have been too small if he was maybe 0.5 lbs bigger. So this will only work on smaller-sized cats.

4.9 Star
This recovery suit is a life saver! I can’t imagine my little sweet face to have to wear a collar for two weeks. For reference, I have an average sized Devon Rex (breed). They are slightly smaller than your average house cat. I ordered a large (due to a review that said her small cat fit in a large) and it was too big. So then I ordered both small and medium. The medium was the best fit.Slight downfall, when she tries to groom herself it creates pilling. We are 3 days into wearing and you can see every spot she has attempted to groom. I’m not sure if anything can even be done to prevent this (As in, I’m not sure what kinds of materials can hold up to the coarseness of a cats tongue). I also think it would be nice if the “female” side of the Velcro strip was double - triple the width for size variations. The suit seems to loosen up (just like a fitted tee shirt would) after a few days.At the end of the day my 5 stars are reserved for the unexplainable mind blowing magic so for this to come in at a 4.9 I think it’s pretty awesome. I would definitely recommend! And even if it only gets us through the two weeks, if she were to ever need surgery again, I wouldn’t second guess buying another.

A little big on her, strings coming out, but she attacks it. Overall so grateful for it!
We got this suit because one of our cats has severe allergies and will chew on herself until she bleeds all over her body. We’ve tried her on almost every medication our vet could think of at this point, every specialized food and litter, and are looking at a derm now. In the meantime the steroids stopped working and we wanted something to help our baby so we tried the suit. Unfortunately it is a little big which I think makes it less comfortable for her. She HATES it, like spent the first few days just lying in the ground in it as though it paralyzed her. We would keep her in it for a few hours a day to get her used to it. It’s been weeks and she still hates it and attacks it constantly but we keep it on all the time and thankfully it has really helped her itch less where her skin is covered. Many strings are coming out already due to her attacking I think and having to wash frequently due to little blood stains. I’m just grateful it gave us an option that could work while we figure out how to help her!Update: it fell apart within a few weeks of wear :/
