Great Artwork gave that pulp fiction feel. Thor and Loki were well drawn and written the archaic prose was a nice touch. ANGELA was drawn beautifully! Big fan of Spawn!

Solid Book that Ties Angela's Origins into the Asgardian Mythos (Don't Need to Have Read all of Original Sin to Read This)
Angela was an intriguing get for Marvel. A Spawn character who had been wrapped up in legal disputes until she was turned over to Marvel a few years ago, the character was literally spat out of a rift in time after the terrible Age of Ultron event (comic not movie) and eventually joined the Guardians of the Galaxy. Since then Marvel has gone back and forth attempting to find a solid place for her. This book is essentially part one of what we can call the Asgardian Angela arc as it features an overhauling of Angela's origins to tie her in with Thor and the other Asgardian mythos characters. During the Original Sin event, Thor is exposed to the eye of the Watcher which imparts ancient secrets to him including the fact that Thor had a baby sister long ago who was killed during a war between Asgard and the lost Tenth Realm: Heven home of the angels. Unlike Christian angels, these warlike creatures only bargain and interact with others on the basis of trades. Everything has its price to them. Thor and Loki go to war with these newly revealed angels in search of their long lost baby sister. The artwork in the book is tremendous and the writing is great overall. It certainly helps to know the basic framework of the Original Sin storyline to understand how Thor is exposed to the Watcher's secrets, but you don't need to have read the full book to get it. This trade has a brief but effective summary of the lead up events that will suffice for most. All in all the manner in which this book ties Angela's history to Thor's is fun, without throwing away the characteristics that make Angela a fun addition to the Marvel canon in the first place.

Interesting storyline. Wish the cover artist had done the stories themselves
Having been a fan of the Angela character when she first appeared in Image's Spawn comics, I was excited when she became a part of the Marvel Universe. I liked the overall premise of the story and how they maintained the core nature of her character (a wingless angel huntress from Heaven). But, it was the visual portion of the Graphic Novel that I felt was a let down. There was no cohesiveness in the artwork. Between Artists, Inkers, and Colorists, 6 people worked on Issues 1-3, 7 on Issue 4, and 8 on Issue 5. The result is that it just looks like they had a tight deadline and had to bring as many people together as they could to get the work done. I suspect the intent was to give different artists a different perspective to portray ... but I feel that the result is just too busy, inconsistent, and distracting. While I really wish Dale Keown had done more than just the cover for the Graphic Novel, I would have loved for Simone Bianchi (who did the majority of the artwork) to have been left alone to just do the whole thing. As soon as I started to enjoy that style, it would be interrupted by another style.

If you like Thor or Loki, you won't be disappointed.
Great new stuff! Very interesting for fans of both Thor and Loki. Odin does something really unexpected at the end that has major ramifications on the way the future will shake out, especially re: Loki. Highly recommend.

Better than expected
I was surprised with how much I liked it. Being a tie-in to the event Original Sin can make you go "ugh not again" but I was pleasantly surprised with how engrossed I was with everything and how emotional I felt by the character's struggle. My biggest problem was with the art. When it focuses on the 10th realm the art becomes very dark and muddy.

Fast paced and fun
Angela could wear some more clothes (but she never did before, so nothing new).Great story. It's nice to see Thor and Loki on the same side, sort of.The angels kind of all look the same and the queen of heaven and female Loki have too similar of faces.A fast paced story. I didn't get bored. It's too bad that they don't make more like this.

Enjoyable
Enormous fun. Don't read reviews. Make up your own mind about it. Loads of Thor and Loki goodness in every shape and form going.

Niente male
