The very name of the brand conveys a deep respect toward craftsmanship and considered as familiar by citizens the world-over. So as a “citizen” of the world, we bear the responsibility to help cultivate a culture of positive change and on-going evolution through our craft. We take that mission seriously and steadfastly welcome what the future may bring. As a true manufacture d’horlogerie, CITIZEN integrates a comprehensive manufacturing process from creating individual components to a watch’s final assembly. It’s an artisan’s approach to watch making based on pushing forward the boundaries of technology and leveraging our experience toward exploring new possibilities. One pivotal technological breakthrough was the development of a light-driven watch. CITIZEN pioneered this engineering innovation well ahead of other watch manufacturers as early as 1976, which led to the launch of the highly acclaimed Eco-Drive in 1995. Utilizing electrical power converted from virtually any light source, this extraordinary innovation changed forever the way watches could be powered. Eco-Drive eliminated the need to ever replace batteries, which made it especially beneficial to areas where such specialist batteries were not obtainable. This leveled the field for citizens of virtually every country to be able to experience unrestricted joy of wearing and using a CITIZEN watch. The product development policy, “The Fusion of Technology and Beauty,” remains a constant motivation for us to merge cutting-edge technology with perfection of design beauty, which as a consequence inspires people to strive to be their best at any time. CITIZEN launches a new campaign in collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy, Better Starts Now. This is the simple belief that no matter who you are or what you do, it is always possible to make something better — and now is the time to start doing it. We believe that better and now are both infinite, and that there is always a next ‘better’ and a new ‘now’ in which you can start pursuing it. It was clear from the onset of this project that we are dedicated to this ideal…not to the past but to the present, and all the way we can improve it. To help communicate this belief to the world we have created a new global CITIZEN brand movie, brand identity and brand website that represents out Better Starts Now philosophy.

Probably the best option for most working divers, still looks nice to wear day-to-day
You guys. This might be the one.If you're a commercial diver, divemaster, instructor, or anything that has you in the water day in and day out... this watch seems to be the perfect combo.- The bezel is unidirectional, and has has very solid detents that lock-up exactly at the second hashes.- The second-hand is hacking, which is important because in some applications the seconds actually DO matter (I also use this watch for flying, and timing between points and cross-checking my INUs/GPS requires accuracy for seconds)- Solar charging, so no worries about changing the battery every year. The manual says the battery is good for at least 10 years, at which point you send it to Citizen for a change I guess.- Dive rated, to just shy of 1000ft (300M). As long as you aren't doing saturation trimix/heliox/triair/hydrox diving, you're good to go (this covers 99.9-something % of divers in the world)- Standard 20mm pins so the watch band is easy to change out. You'll want a large NATO for drysuit, and a small one for day-to-day. You can change the NATO bands in about 15 seconds. Super easy. You'll likely need to take it to the jeweler's to get the stock band removed, but that only took them a few minutes.- Solid stainless steel body. VERY slim. Thinner than any other dive watch I've worn.- Uncluttered display. Nothing distracting. Easy to read. Glows strongly in the dark. Reference marking at 60/0 on the rotating bezel.- Date window is small and does not clutter or distract.- Slightly curved crystal makes this very readable underwater. A good thing! Will update this review with accuracy and durability after a while of hard use. Stay tuned. :)

Finally. The perfect watch!
This is an excellent watch! I'm writing this review after a year of hard use. I'm a professional firefighter and am very tough on watches. Previously, I owned a Seiko SKX007 that lasted one year before the internal movement became damaged, most likely due to hitting against something. I loved the overall look, waterproofness, and rubber band of the Seiko, but needed a more reliable movement. After a lot of research, I chose the Citizen BN0000-04H. My only reservation had to due with reports of crown issues and insufficient threading or cross threading. I'm happy to report that I have had no issues with this watch. I actually prefer the crown threading on this watch to the Seiko. The seiko had a very fine thread that although it caused no issue, was more difficulty to get started. The Citizen has a more course thread but is very easy to start. I simply spin the crown counter clockwise until I feel a click, then tighten clockwise. The crown spins approximately 3 revolutions until tight. I've had no issues with cross-threading or the crown coming loose. I don't dive with this watch, but have worn it 24 hours / day for over a year. I've worn it during work as a firefighter, swimming, and showering with no water intrusion to the case. The exterior of the watch has been every bit as durable as the Seiko. The crystal remains scratch free and the band shows no sign of failure. I also find the citizen band to be more comfortable than the seiko band. Best of all, the watch is dead on accurate. I set the time during daylight savings and it is still accurate within seconds next time daylight savings rolls around. This is a huge improvement over the Seiko, or any other automatic movement. For someone who works hard for a living, and needs a durable watch, I see no logical reason to choose an automatic movement over quartz. Along with being durable and accurate, I find this watch to look nice enough to wear during more formal occasions.

Amazing Watch
One does not need to research this watch more than a day to see that everyone raves about it. Most reviews give 4.5 out of 5 stars. I have 2 automatic dive watches and 2 quartz ones and this is my favorite. It does not have that oversized bulky dive watch look that everyone seems to be wearing these days, but it has the quality of a much more expensive watch. I'm not a fan of rubber straps, so I immediately replaced it with a 20mm brushed stainless Watchadoo that I had on my Seiko Orange Monster. This required pushing the steel spacer tubes out of the rubber strap and re-using them around the original pins to make for a perfect fit on the Watchadoo endlinks. The watch looks smaller than it's 40mm size, especially when comparing to my 47mm Invicta Grand Diver, but remember the Submariner is still a 40mm with no plans to go larger. For those that never had a dive watch and want that sport look without strapping on a 48-52mm tuna can on their wrist, this is the way to go. You also get 300m water resistance which is better than many dive watches that are twice the price. It looks just a good in the water as it does with a shirt and tie. Read the reviews and you won't be sorry.

NOT A PROFESSIONAL DIVERS WATCH
I bought this watch in 2014. I am a professional diver, not a commercial diver but a SCUBA diving instructor. So I wasn't taking this watch down to the very limits of its depth range , I wasn't welding or moving heavy loads around underwater. I was diving in warm clear waters to a maximum depth of 30m/100ft. After a year of use, the watch stopped working. Even though I'd taken great care to rinse it of in fresh water after every dive.I wasn't able to send it back to Citizen until I arrived back in the UK in 2016. After Citizen had looked at the watch, they told me water had got in. And they said water probably got through the crown (the button on the side of the watch for adjusting the date and time) And they told me the cost of repair would be £140, which is more than I originally paid for the watch brand new. They said that I hadn't pushed the crown in which is why it let in water. Bare in mind I had taken the watch diving twice a day, six days a week for over a year and had no problems. So I couldn't understand how this would've happened. Obviously, if you've ever been SCUBA diving, you'll know it's a very kit orientated sport. You are always taking kit off and on again, carrying equipment to and from the boat, helping other people with their kit. And as an instructor, when I'm teaching, I'm taking things like teaching slates, S.M.B's and reels in and out of my B.C.D pocket. So maybe the crown got caught as I was doing any one of these things. The point being, as a PROFESSIONAL divers watch as this is advertised, this shouldn't be an issue. If it's being marketed as a "Professional" divers watch then to my mind, this is obviously a design fault. If you want too spend this amount on a nice dress watch that you can wear in the rain or swimming pool, then this watch is ideal. As for using it for actual diving, then I would suggest looking at watches made by companies such as SUUNTO, MARES, OCEANIC,etc that specialize in make diving equipment and watches. And therefore don't have design issues whereby you could possibly flood the watch, even if it was by accident. After this watch stopped working I had to revert to using MY Casio G-Shock watch that I paid £40 for some 13yrs ago. It's done well over 2000 dives, has never given me any problems, still works today and I've never had to change the battery yet.

Solar power - no batteries, great!
I am a huge fan of ecodrive watches - this is my second, bought specifically for swimming and sport, my other is still going strong with the added peace of mind of Citizen's five year warranty. Traditional battery powered watches have to be sent away to have the battery replaced or the water resistance cannot be maintained and the warrant will be void. This is expensive and inconvenient. Solar power makes this unnecessary as they run for ever for free so long as you don't leave them in a drawer for years. I reckon that what I save on battery replacement will pay for the watch in 3 years! Should also add that I am a woman - bought this because it is not too chunky and it looks absolutely fine on my wrist although I do have fairly large hands for a woman. If I had a gripe it would be that unlike my other watch this does not have perpetual date or atomic time (I'd gladly pay more for this because I will have to unscrew the crown to change the date/ time and eventually this may cause the screw thread on the crown to go - others have mentioned this and I've had other sports watches that have suffered this fate as they are no longer waterproof once this happens).

Perfect timepiece.
This is a beautiful watch. It's solar and will charge in any light from natural sun source to your bedside lamp. It's a great size, as so many watches now are ridiculously big, this one is just right. The time keeping is excellent in fact apart from daylight savings adjustment, I haven't had to adjust it at all. Very comfortable to wear and really easy face to read. Unless you're a collector, it's basically the only watch you'll ever need.

Citizen Mens Eco-Drive 300M Divers Watch
After one month the timekeeping has been faultless. The quality of the watch is very high and the elapsed time bezel is positive when set. Since the watch was bought for use whilst hill walking in all weathers rather than diving the strap was found to be rather bulky but was easily changed for a lighter looking design at little expense. My only comment would be the winder is a little fiddly to seat down after adjusting the time/date but not really a problem with a little care. A real positive watch feature is that having fully charged it in daylight it is claimed to be able to be stored for up 6 months stored in the dark before needing further light charging. So on hindsight would I buy it again? - Yes and would thoroughly recommend it.

Solid diver
One piece solid case construction with no caseback. Rated to 300 metres. Fairly classic dial, ultra clear on the wrist and highly accurate. One way sixty click time lapse bezel, brilliant for timing anything not just a dive, I.e. a run, a drive, bank job etc. Pretty unbeatable price, cost in a jewellery or watch shop will run a lot more than on amazon.800 or so of these were ordered by the royal navy according to an FOI request. Not sure how the RN found em but for your average joe you cant go wrong.
