I saw this was expanded foam, but wasn't really expecting Styrofoam. The front is smoother and a little bit harder than the back, but it is very fragile. Mine was "beat up" a little from shipment, and the front edges were rounded and rough like Styrofoam texture, but I think I can sand it smooth again. Once I paint it it should look like "real" crown molding, but I wouldn't use it anywhere someone can touch it. I intend to put LED uplighting in mine, and I'm hoping that they don't get too hot for Styrofoam...

Very easy to put up with just painter caulk. Bought 2 packs so far for my living room and will buy more for the rest of my house when I get to it. The shipping time was also very quick! I mounted mine an inch down from the ceiling and lade an LED strip in the top and it worked perfect! Will buy again.

I've been installing this in my rental properties since it's so light. I can stand on ladder and install by myself. Is light and easy to hold above my head for long periods of time.
