Hepburn Voice by VQ – with ALEXA Voice Control & Portable Bluetooth Speaker – Grey & Copper

In effect, a hi-fi Alexa! Good sound, easy to set up, good looking, good value - what's to dislike? (I can't comment on the battery life - I use it connected to the mains.)

Battery had a very short life then after about 3 months would not charge

I've got a few echo products but liked the design of this a lot more. Sits well on the kitchen window ledge. Very easy to set up with the VQ app that gets it online, then its just like alexa but when you turn up the volume blimey its impressively powerful proper stereo stuff! Like the idea of including standalone bluetooth as well so i can use it outside in the summer with the battery already built in too.

I received the Emma Bridgewater version of this as a birthday gift. Love the design, fits perfectly into my bedroom. Easy to set up and straight forward to use. Few little things which prevent me giving five stars. The unit emits a high pitched sound (like static) which only goes when the power is turned off, not noticeable when music playing etc, but really annoying in your bedroom at night. The light indicating which connection you’re using is also disturbing at night. Finally you can’t amend things like wake word, alarm sound etc within the Alexa app... That said, it’s aesthetically much better than Alexa and sound quality is great.

This speaker has a lovely retro look while having good sound quality and Alexa built in which is a bonus! I did not think I would use any Alex products but having been using my housemates Hepburn Voice I have found it a bit addictive! (especially while cooking as changing song or volume can be done hands free) So since I am soon moving out I decided to invest in one for myself!

Update Aug 2023 - changed internet provider and now the thing has packed in altogether and I can get no help. I so wish I had never bought this speaker. What a pile of trouble it has been. Never gain. Update on this speaker is that it turned out to be totally unreliable. Plays classic FM which I think is Global player but anything from Planet radio you can forget it most of the time. Dreadful piece of apparatus that I wish I had not bought. Took my ages to figure out what it was and how it works. Planet radio, Global radio and Spotify etc. Originally gave this a one star. I have now found out how to work it so the station choice is not as limited as I thought. It was quite quick to set up even for someone like me who is old and technology phobic. Trouble was it looked like the Roberts radio I have already and I though this was a radio. When I read the box it does say I am not a radio, I am a smart speaker. Now I have no clue what a smart speaker is but I shall persevere.

Great little piece of technology. Love the design. Looks like a radio and it's so much more. Sound is amazing and you can adjust volume from you phone or voice.

Was really looking forward to my delivery of the Hepburn Voice by VQ (Alexa). Delivery was good to Hvar island (Croatia). The product box was obviously opened before as there was a new label affixed on top of the original that has been slit open. The speaker at the bottom part has a 2 cm tear and the metal mesh is dented on the upper right side. It was damaged and was placed back into the box and sealed to be resent to another customer. Who is unfortunately me. I have immediately resent it back for a full refund. Very disappointing.
