Great product

The Pet Barrier arrived and had to be resprung twice before it could be used. It is very difficult to hook and stay hooked to the side when it is retracted. The handle and rivets began to come apart after only a few retracting. It will not withstand much use before the handle comes completely off and it has pulled away from the hooking hardware without duct tape to keep it together.

This was by far the most affordable pet gates, and one of the only ones that is retractable. If I were to re-buy, I would probably go for an upgrade. Ours does not retract all the way, but only retracts until there are about 6 inches still hanging. We had to get creative and put in another nail so that it didn't just hang there. Also, our dog was able to get through the barrier on the first day. I'm not sure that's the fault of the product as our dog is 90 lbs and very persistent.

This product works very well. the only downfall is that the fabric handle tore off the second day.

This works well to keep our excited English springer spaniels out of our basement while we are gone for work during the day. One issue we had with other gates is they were too short and/or the dogs could see through them so there have been times when one or the other jumped over it to head downstairs. The material is good (not great) and one of the plastic pieces at the bottom to protect from getting cut on a piece of metal was broken off. It was packaged well so I'm not sure how it happened. But overall we are happy with this gate as when it isn't "closed" it is hidden from the public view.

I purchased this for the hope to contain my Chi Puppy. I Read the product details and liked that it can be mounted several different ways. Well, I have a flat space for the entry way of my kitchen which is wear my puppy stays on the back wall away from all of the kitchen stove, refridg, etc. After going by the directionsto a T, I mounted the main retractable componet and was very proud of myself not screwing any thing up. As I pulled out the the rectractable barier and put it on the other side of the wall, I then inspected the material which appeared to be vinal like material.Now let talk why you deffinatly do not want to buy this product!!1. Any small dog can just push through the bottom of barrier without any problem.2. If you have a medium to large door, the barier is a complete joke since the top is about the same way. The material just bends down. The amusing part was, there is a sticker on it and said "The Pet Barrier, Patent Pending." Going by this statement on the product details: "It is reliable, adjustable and affordable. The Pet Barrier is perfect for much-loved, but energetic or protective family pet and ideal for the sneaky escape artists." It was deffinatly not a reasonable price and if someone does have a "Sneaky escape artist,they will escape with ease. I went out and went to 2 local pet stores. I decided to purchas 1 after going it over, it is similar to North States Walk-Thru Pet Gate. It perfect for my dog, and my dog cant jump it or push it due to its size. I hope this helped some who were thinking about buying this product.

Good idea. But item was delivered damaged, which for the price I overlooked. After one "test" (pull) I could not get it to retract and immediately noticed that the material looked torn and had several obvious stains. Happy I was able to receive a full refund though.
