Is it battery operated

This machine can be both, battery and mains operated.

Can I just play sets rather than legs ?

If you set the machine with one Leg to win a set it could do that.

What mode is the single player mode and can you still see your averages on single player ?

SOL is the mode for a single player and yes, at the end of the game averages can be called up

where do batteries go?

Can’t remember. Thought the product was rubbish…
