The adapter is the real deal. It does come from GE and worke with my GE portable dishwisher. I compared it to the original that came with the dishwasher. They are identical.

Awesome Price
A couple of months ago I noticed some lime build up on my faucet adapter. So I unscrew it to clean it & a bunch of nasty black stuff comes out where the washer had all but dissolved after 6 years of faithful service, plus I noticed the inside mesh piece was rusted so bad it crumbled in my hand. No problem I got another washer that fit perfectly, and I figured I'll just use it without the mesh piece until I can find a replacement. Wrong!! The water will not go down the hose and into the dishwasher with out that stupid piece of mesh. So several trips to my favorite hardware store later I learned just how many "universal" adapters don't work with my machine. In desperation I called the manufacturer who quoted me a price of over $24 plus shipping and handling, for a total of $32 and change. So I politely told them "no thank you" and started my quest to find a better deal. None of the merchants I ever heard of could do me a good enough deal to justify risking having to return yet another adapter, this time by mail. Then I saw this merchant on Amazon, who I never heard of, but at less than half the price I decided to give them a shot. Works great and I saved 18 bucks-sweet!!

Perfect fit
I went 1 month without my dishwasher because I changed the faucet but old fitting one didn't work but this one did. I have clean dishes again. Thanks

This item worked well and was a direct replacement for the factory unit that came with my GE dishwasher 15 years ago.(it was just plain worn out/leaking)Also replaced seals in attachment water coupler:no leaks now.A bit pricey but far better quality than aftermarket alternatives.Good for 15 more years.
