Seems well built and discovered it gets much louder when you lift the lever on the side. A great addition to my kids playhouse.

This hand crank siren is next to worthless. Two of my neighbors less than a half block away can’t hear it. Does this company have a bigger / louder alarm. I would like to return this one! It is just not helpful at all.

Works good mounted on my golf cart grandkids love it loud enough for the kids but not to loud to be annoying

Siren was set up to be used for when our patients graduated from Rehab services. They enjoy cranking.

The handle is junk and the siren wobbled around on the base. But its serviceable and we made it work. Its aluminum so I leave it outside on my kids clubhouse. I'd buy again, but its a novelty.

The crank handle attaches to the gear box by threading onto the input shaft. The threads are right handed, so you can only crank the handle clockwise (as seen from the back), otherwise the handle will simply unscrew. The problem is that this turns the siren impeller (the spinning turbine part) the wrong way for how the impeller blades are cast. Each "L"-shape vane of the impeller is backwards from how it should be. If you slowly crank the siren the wrong way, you get a glimpse of how loud it should be. But then your handle unscrews. It's not really and end-user-fixable problem, the siren needs a re-designed rotor that is a mirror image of the one it has.
