Update as of 10/2019: CCinaCiao has added new instructions which look amazing. They also informed me they have tested these with 8-14 and addressed the issues of the screws. I’m not sure about the sticky tape or other parts but if the robots have an easier time of assembly then this may be a better chance as well. However glue would last longer over time anyways.... so I’d suggest adding it anyways. CCinaCiao really did listen to my complaint and did go back and address the issues. They listen and work with their customers! I’d consider trying these again. I’m only leaving my original review to show how much these guys really did to try and make them better! Great job! I’d recommend them! They truly are a company who wants to be better and not just put crap out there and not care... they seem to care by addressing the issues and responding to the customers and their concerns! Very good job! I recommend these robots and this company! If you have a problem... they will help you and they will try to fix it if you just tell them the issue.Original review: Kids can’t put this together. Adults can’t put it together. Screws don’t fit in the holes. Used various screwdrivers and finally had to quit after an hour. Couldn’t finish the robots. This is unacceptable. Horrible! Don’t purchase ... waste of money. The double sided tape isn’t sticky either - I just falls off. Had to hot glue parts together on the blue robot. Hated these robots. Never again!!

The instructions for this thing are horrible. The pictures they provide are too small and not in focus so you can't use those and the words on the instructions are not sufficient to properly build the car. For example, the brackets that hold the axles have two holes, but the instructions do not tell you which hole to thread the axle through. The plastic pieces have not been properly machined, the screws do not fit in them easily and you have to have pliers and your own precision screwdriver to actually tighten the parts completely. You also need to have wire snippers and something to unsheath the wire in order to make the connections required. The tires on this thing have flat spots on them, they're not round, so unless you're running it on carpet, sometimes the wheels will just spin until they go back to the round part. Many of the brackets require you to manually unfold them in order to put a piece of double-sided tape on them to attach things like the solar panels. They tell you to use double-sided tape on the motor, but if you do that then it will sit too high and the worm gear won't be able to turn the axle gear. I'd be less upset if I paid $5 for this product, but I paid much more and it's not worth it. I was hoping for something that I could do with my eight year old daughter and this isn't kid friendly.

The media could not be loaded.  My children absolutely loved both the robotic projects that came in the kit. My 6 yr old could easily assembled the small robot and alsolearned basic principles of simple circuit, function of various components in the circuits ( like battery, motor, switch and wires), principles of energy transformation and mechanical movement structure. It develop their curiosity and creativity. ...My 10 yr old assembled the other robot which uses the solar panels with little help from me. She learned a lot about how the solar energy is used to drive transportation.Over all our experience with the robotic kit is excellent and I highly recommend this to every STEM enthusiast.

The media could not be loaded.  An original box is kindda small but two Robot packages are fitted in.A blue robot is relatively easy to make. You can have fun with little kids; cute and wiggly. My 6yr girl loved to help me.However, a green robot is NOT a kids toy; an assembly is not easy. If you are not familiar with robot craft, it may take quiet long time. Recommend the project for at least teenagers or older who like to make DIY models.

This was a complete waste of money. The packaging looked used, the bags were clearly reused and that made the whole thing look cheap and unprofessional. The directions were extremely small and confusing. My husband and 8 year old son did this together as a father and son project and it quickly turned frustrating for both. The screws were very tiny and the screwdriver that it came with was insufficient because the screw kept falling off of the screwdriver. My husband had to use his own tools that had a magnetic head. The gear box doesn’t reach the wheels and the tires don’t turn properly. If you do put the tires where the gears are the tires won’t reach the ground and it will not work properly. It was completely difficult and frustrating to put together. There was nothing really redeemable about this product. We had high hopes that this would be an enriching learning and binding experience for father and son- they did bond- however it was over the ridiculousness of this product.

I'm a teacher and teach a STEM/Robotics club made up of kids from k-5. I was interested in this product. I tried this kit out with students that were younger than the recommended age. They loved the experience and products. The kids had the robots completed in 5 minutes. The instructions were clear. Each robot came with all the parts and in its bag for each robot. I highly recommend these robots for STEM class/club or for a child who is really into robotics or engineering.

I'm a STEM/Gifted and Talented teacher and was intrigued by this product. I tried this kit out with students that were younger than the recommended age so they did need more assistance but overall loved the experience and product. The instructions were pretty clear and each robot came with all the parts (even included a little screwdriver). There aren't any extras so be careful not to lose any pieces! Highly recommend for STEM class or for a child who is really into robotics/engineering
