I'm not sure of the size but will they work on old school schwinn sting ray wheels?

It's hard to answer this without knowing for sure the size and type of spoke nipple we're referring to. You can use a caliper to measure the nipple spline widths to find a sizing match, but also need to determine if square or six-sided, etc. The SW-0 fits square headed 3.23mm nipples, SW-1 fits 3.30mm nipples, SW-2 fits 3.45mm nipples, and SW-3 fits 3.96mm nipples. Pretty wide range, but there is more standardization these days than there used to be with the vintage stuff of the sixties and seventies...
