Great little peelers!
Sharp and easy to use. Takes a little bit to get used to because the shape is different than the kind of peeler Iโve used for years, but it works well.

Inexpensive long lasting and the best
There is no better peeler than this brand, loved by chefs everywhere for the reason itโs undeniably superior year after year. Itโs not stainless steel which made me question it the first time I bought it. After trying several different stainless brands I couldnโt wait to relegate those to the back of the drawer. KUHN Rikon you wonโt be sorry try getting just one first, youโll understand why having the 3 pack is a great gift giver to your favorite cooks.

Prep Kitchen Essential: An Industry Standard
For those who work in the food industry, this one is an essential. Common complaints: Blade rusts, awkward to use, feels cheap. Response: 1.) The blade rusts because the peeler is not made of stainless steel. As someone else has already pointed out, it's carbon steel which requires more care (rinse/wash & wipe try with a kitchen towel right away) to prevent rusting. However, this makes the Kuhn Rikon peelers MUCH sharper. They also keep their edge longer than your normal metal swivel head peeler that most people are used to seeing. 2.) For new users, the kuhn rikon peeler can feel quite awkward because its Y-shape means that it is best for certain things. In the restaurant business, peeling 10gallons of potatoes for mash happens every couple days and this is the peeler to do it. The Y-peeler is best for certain tasks and requires a certain grip and technique. It takes some getting used to but once you've got it down, you'll be going through apples and potatoes like no one's business. 3.) These peelers aren't meant to be kept for years unless of course you only peel a few veggies a year. For the product intended use, these are plenty sturdy, can be thrown around, used, abused and still stay sharper for longer. Many prep cooks go through one of these every couple months just because of the sheer volume of food they prepare. So, with professional wear and tear, you're not going to keep them around forever. The reason why cooking professionals are generally so satisfied with these is that the Kuhn Rikons are the best peelers when considering working efficiency, durability and price. Summary: If you're a home cook who only peels an apple as a snack and a few potatoes for dinner every few days, you might not want to bother with getting used to a different kind of peeler and the slightly higher maintenance. BUT if you're in the food industry, you know that you can't find what the Kuhn Rikon peelers have to offer anywhere else.

Good Peelers But With a Caveat
I like these a lot, but find myself replacing them every couple of years, because the blades seem to get rusty. I haven't put them in the dishwasher at all with my last purchase, and they still show signs of rust-like appearance on the blades. That said, they're cheap enough to replace them and not lose any sleep over it. But I do recommend, if possible, just rinsing them off rather than washing them and DEFINITELY not putting them in the dishwasher. I was looking for some "higher quality" Y-shaped peelers, but there doesn't seem to be anything that would make a difference.

Sharp, Simple, and Works Really Well
These peelers are excellent and very easy to use. They are sharp and peel smoothly without much effort, which makes prepping fruits and vegetables much faster. I like the simple design and how lightweight they are. They feel comfortable in the hand and give good control while peeling. The 3-pack is also nice because you can keep one in different places or have extras ready. Overall itโs a reliable and high-quality peeler set that works great.

Don't Buy - prone to rust!
I purchased this product because it was recommended by America's Test Kitchen. BIG MISTAKE. It awful. Blade is not sharp enough so it glides awkwardly. The blade RUSTS after the first wash! It's hard to see because the blade is black. But, after I washed it and I dried it with paper towel. About a day passed and I saw the small rust spots develop on the blade. If you own this product, please carefully examine the blade because the rust is difficult to see and starts with very small dots. This product is too delicate. I really don't want to baby any product. Especially a cheap set of peelers. The problem is: the blade can be difficult to dry properly and even a little bit of moisture will cause rust meaning that the material is rust prone. Very silly for a product that must be exposed to water. If you want a fantastic peeler get the OXO, I have several and nothing has gone wrong.

The best ever, and mine DON'T rust.
I waited for several months before posting a review, since I had read that these peelers have a bad rusting problem. Not that I can see. These are the BEST, ABSOLUTELY BEST peelers that I've ever used, and I'm 70. I was very skeptical at first, particularly given the low cost and seemingly "cheap" design (plastic). I will admit that the first time I used one I wasn't thrilled, but that turned out to be because I was putting as much pressure on it as I had on my former peeler. Once I learned to "lighten up" these peelers have sped through every peeling job I've given them, including peaches. I can't recommend them highly enough, particularly if you're like me and have arthritis in your hands and wrists. I heard about them first in "The Food Lab" by J. Kenji Lopez Alt and, since I found his book such a treasure, I decided to try them. Kenji was right. Regarding the "rust problem" โ As I said, I've been using these peelers for months with NO sign of rust. I don't wash them in the dishwasher. (Why would you?) Since fruits and vegetables aren't laden with fat the wash-up is extremely simple. When I'm done peeling I give them a quick rinse under hot water, and dry immediately. They remain as rust-free and sharp (almost dangerously so) as they were the day they arrived. I cannot recommend them highly enough. ADDED on 4/20/18: I've now had these peelers for a little over 2 years. After a while, using them almost daily, I decided to try putting one of them in the dishwasher. I figured that they were cheap enough that even if one was destroyed I could get another. There were NO problems at all with washing these in the dishwasher. I put them in the silverware basket, which is in the bottom rack, and there is no difference that I can discern. All 3 of them are still as sharp as the day I bought them, and without any sign of rust. I'm 72 and I'll probably be able to will these to someone! You simply cannot go wrong with these peelers. UPDATE 7/27/20 I've now had the peelers for 4 years, and regularly wash them in the dishwasher. They're just as sharp as the day I got them. They'll peel anything โ including butternut squash. BEST. PEELERS. EVER!

Brilliant peeler. But sharp! - treat with respect
I bought my first set of these after looking around to find what the professionals use for the job; these seemed to be very popular. I wasn't disappointed. They're a brilliant peeler that does the job quickly and well. But despite the plastic and price, they're a serious tool - the blades are VERY sharp, as I discovered the first time I peeled towards my spare hand instead of away from it, and took a thin shaving off the side of one of my fingers. I changed my technique very quickly after that. They don't last for ever. If not cleaned and dried carefully, the blades will rust over time (they're especially unhappy with being put through our dishwash). And we somehow seem to manage to throw them away accidentally from time to time as well. But at a couple of quid per unit, replacing them isn't exactly going to break the bank. I wouldn't be without them. (On my fourth or fifth set. Will undoubtedly order more in the future.)

Amazing Product
This is a really simple product, but it is absolutely the best I have ever had. sharp to the point you take extra care not to cut yourself. Other than that it is always helpful to have more than one if you are cooking for several people like in Christmas or if you have help in your kitchen often. I recommend this purchase 100%.

Best peeler ever!!!
I can never do without these peelers. They are super sharp and durable. They do rust if left to dry so I'd recommend to dry them after washing.
