Yeah, It's that good!
I've only had it about a week and have only spent a little time with it but on a first impression it's the best practice Amp I've owned. I've had Fender and Marshal 10Watt Amps and the VOX pathfinder is by far a superior Practice Amp. I read reviews that gave it very high marks on the clean channel but not much love on the distortion EFX. I found the clean channel to be exceptional, and I found the Distortion to be more than adequate for .......a practice Amp. Most players have their own EFX pedals anyway. This Amp has the usual Gain, Treble, Bass, Volume knobs. The Treble and Bass have exceptional range so you can actually get some great tone settings out of just these 2 knobs. Line out/Headphone jack allows quiet practice time or input top PA/Larger Cabinet. I play a PRS CE Custom for electric and I put both my Acoustic Martin Dreadnought and Martin 12 String through it clean with outstanding sound!. Good Volume in a Medium 20 a 16 ft basement studio. I wouldn't hesitate to mic this through a PA for a small room Gig. 5 Stars Great Value for a reasonable price. AND Quick Delivery!

The real deal. More than a practice amp. Legit.
We bought this for our green room as a back stage amp for our musicians at our worship center but man... this thing has earned its keep in lots of other settings. Just used it for a low-volume rehearsal and it cuts through everything including the drums (on fire sticks). Completely legit Vox tones, lots of volume and excellent build quality. We had previously bought some smaller, battery operated 10W amps and they were all toys - unusable for our purposes. Returned them all. This one has exponentially more output than any of those and for about the same dollars, plus that sweet chimney Vox tone - even though its solid state. Drive channel is the highest output and isn't all that driven (not in a dirty way) and the clean channel is lower output but totally clean. We use the drive channel for the most part and just back off the input volume for a nice blend of slight breakup when pushed and crystal clear note definition. If you're looking for a completely legit low volume amp that is light, looks great and will CRANK if needed, all with that legendary Vox tone, grab one of these. We're sure glad we did!

Tone and Looks, Pretty clear cut
It looks like a tiny AC-30. It is built in Vietnam, but don't let that fool you. It feels pretty tight and no internal buzzing that I was aware of the cabinet area. There may be some built in modeling of which is not disclosed. It has that British Jangly distorted tone on the 2nd channel. On the clean channel, using the gain upwards of 3/4 will give you the introduction of some distorted tones and mimicking a valve type amp. I was overall impressed with how nice it does sound, so much so that I may get second one for another room, perhaps the red special edition at the same price or the version with the British flag in white. The only negative was the lack of a reverb. Even if they would have added a digital modeled reverb, it would have been a great add on, but this bare bones amp is probably light years ahead of the amp I started on with which was a small Transistor Sears amp in the mid to late 70's.. As far as recording goes, using an external Mic would be no problem. Understand that the smaller an amp is, the close proximity of a Microphone will make it sound larger. It's only in open air and further away that the sound of the smaller speaker will show it's tininess. If you have this amp at or near ear level or pointed up towards you at about 4-5 feet away, it sounds like a larger amp. Regardless, I was impressed. Great value and I would say it's above a practice amp. It would absolutely handle a recording job as well for a different type of tone.

Vox please bring back the 15r or add reverb to this one fix the volume discrepancy thank you
$110.00 price , yes it works for practice . Volume on clean channel super low , switch to overdrive it gets loud so be aware to that . By itself the tone is clean and clear on clean channel and not a bad overdrive sound . I wish Vox would have added reverb and fix the volume issue on changing from clean to overdrive then that would make this amp really great . The real way it shines is when you add a multi effects pedal on clean setting ( no overdrive ) because it really brings out the effects and drums well . It has a headphone jack but takes the 1/4 jack input . Of all the small practice amps tried this one performed the best overall and it is a Vox . When you add reverb to the clean channel it is a beautiful tone .

Huge sound in a tiny package, best tone for the money.
This amp was recommended to me by several people, but I was somewhat skeptical about getting something so small. I blindly ordered it, having never played on one, and was quite taken by surprise when I first plugged it in. First of all, this thing CAN get loud. I have heard people saying a practice amp cannot put out enough sound to play live gigs with, however this amp is powerful enough to fill small bars just fine. Secondly, the clean tone is godly. Quite easy to get an incubus-like clean tone. With that being said, I REALLY wish it had built in reverb. Coming from an amp with built-in reverb, you may have some trouble adjusting to the lack there of. But for the price and size I guess you can't ask too much. The built-in distortion is also quite breathtaking. It's hard to believe such a little amp is putting out that kind of sound while your playing it. My friend who is a die-hard Les Paul guy even said my strat sounded amazing put through that distortion. I can get a Bush-like dirty tone with ease on my fender strat SSS and the overdrive with gain turned up a bit. Overall, I don't think you can get a better amp under $200, and CERTAINLY not under $100 as this was when I bought it. In addition to having the power to fill a decent sized venue, amazing tone (clean and dirty), and being small enough to fit anywhere and fit in your passenger seat, it looks very stylish too. I would recommend this amp 100% to anyone reading this.

Love it!
Just got this today and wanted to write a review because I loved it so much! I have a Vox AC15 as my main amp and wanted to get that great tone on the go. I mainly bought this because I am a full-time guitar teacher and wanted a new amp for daily lessons. Iโve use everything from a Dan electro honey tone, Pignose and my latest Marshall MG 10 watt. While all of those were good, I never found an amp that quite delivered a great sound as much is something you would play at home, but I figured thatโs what youโre going to get for the price range, until now.... First off, the looks of this amp is awesome! Itโs basically just a miniature version of the 15. The enclose and build quality is excellent and it just looks cool! Secondly, plugging in it sounds amazing on the clean, very nice and fall just like itโs father. Kicking on the overdrive channel, it starts bringing out that grit that I love on the Strat. Since a Strat with custom 69 pick ups is my main guitar, I wanted something that was going to bring that sound out. With the game around 9 oโclock in the basin trouble, around 2 oโclock, I achieved the sound I was looking for with plenty of volume left. I will say though with the overdrive maxed out, itโs a little bit fuzzy sounding, but thatโs not really what you want out of a Vox anyways. I also plugged in my PRS Orianthi, which has dual humbuckers, and it sounded full and great with the max distortion! This amplifier will pretty much bring out what youโre putting into it and thatโs what a good amplifier should do. I also hooked up an OCD version for just you hear what some extra drive with sound like and it sounds great and quiet. It was better sounding on the OD channel pushing it even harder. Overall I love this amp and itโs going to be in my new mainstay as far as a quick plug and play and in my daily guitar lessons. Absolutely love.

Great first amp. Or 2nd. Or 3rd. Or 4th. Or......
I usually don't write reviews. Maybe once or twice I have, sometimes out of obligation when Amazon reminds me to do so. But I feel compelled to write a review about this little amp. It's small, yes. And usually, great amps aren't. There are some really crappy big amps too, that are just big for the sake of being huge because some people think that's cool (I am one of them, sorta). But this amp is great, and it's small at the same time...which makes it the greatest, because you can grab it and take it to any room in the house or throw it in the car and take it on a trip or to a friends house....whatever. I have had some good amps and some bad. A bad one was a little solid state Peavey I got at a pawn shop in 95', it was about 15 watts, had no volume, and when driven it sounded like manic squirrels beating each other to death with tin foil. After some other meh amps, I ended up with a JCM 800 Marshall all-tube amp that I thought was pretty good. And it is (it was built in England in 84'), and I still have it, but it eats tubes and the Marshall sound does not excite me any more in my quest for great tone. If you like the Vox clean tone...warm, rich, chimey, buy this amp. It sounds fantastic. It sounds like the big brothers in the Vox line, even though it's small. Has surprisingly deep low end and puts out much more volume than you would think for a SS 10 watter. I currently use mine linked off of a Fender Super Champ X2 head, and the combination of Fender and Vox cleans is outrageously awesome for 2 pretty small amps. Like a Fender, the overdrive isn't going to take you to Metal heaven without pedals...which in my mind defeats the purpose of a small portable amp UNLESS this is your first amp and you want to do everything with it....which I would highly recommend as a first amp, if that's the case for you. But, like a Fender, when driven it gets raw and angry and keeps it's definition. I like that. I play Tele's, and love P90s, and for these guitars the drive on this amp is really good for ME. Tone is subjective. But it. Buy 3....1 for you, 1 for a backup just in case somebody steals yours, and 1 for your best friend (or someone who you would like to make friends with). It's that good. I would easily pay 150 for it anyday. Hope I was helpful. That's the point of a review anyway, right? Have fun.

One of my most satisfying purchases ever.
I'm a household musician. I don't gig, I don't play in a band, and I don't record very often. Usually, I'm picking my acoustic on my porch. Some years ago, I got it in my head that I wanted to play around with an electric occasionally, so I bought one. I also bought an effects pedal and a nice set of headphones. Living in an apartment and having no other need for an amp, I figured the headphones were sufficient, and they were, for years. Moved to the country, and decided I wanted a setup that could sit, be organized, and could be turned on whenever the mood struck me. The catch was, I didn't want to buy anything too expensive, and I didn't want to be suckered into getting more than I needed. My biggest gripe these days is how hard it is for normal folks to sort through advertisements and elitism to find the "all you'll need" model of anything. From cars to computers to even food, it's impossible to know where your own satisfaction ends and excess begins. I can say that this little amp is an exception for me. It is exactly, perfectly, everything I need; it's loud, sounds excellent, is small and lightweight, and is awesomely priced. Looks nice, too; the retro, low-profile vibe is perfect on display in my living room with my guitar hanging above it. I play mostly metal and hard-rock through it, and still haven't gotten anywhere near as loud as it can go. The sound is monstrous for its size, and the overdrive is more than sufficient for jamming on your own. Add a few pedals for fun, and baby, you got a stew goin. The amp is great, and for the price it cannot be beat. If you're a beginner, it would be an excellent starter amp that would see you through many levels of skill building. If you're cramped for space or need to be able to easily move it, you can't get more sound in as small a package. If you're like me and have been playing for 20+ years, know the elitists are almost always wrong, and want killer amp for a sweetheart budget, then look no further.

Great Practice Amp
Works wonderfully for someone who has kids and doesn't want to wake them up with a loud amp. I can run all my pedals through it and it sounds wonderful. Its the VOX quality you want packed into a small yet awesome looking amp
