Let's Learn Japanese: First Words for Everyone

Bought for my son who is a little too young (just about to be 2) to really get into this book as it's meant to yet but I like to look at it and I'm sure he'll enjoy it soon enough.

Great translation and love the style of the book. Only negative is some of the pictures are hard for my kid to recognize.

I always felt Japanese was hard even while taking classes years ago. This book introduced the different ways it’s read and spoken, which made it simple for me to understand. My wife speaks it at an intermediate level so she’s able to read it no matter which version of the word it is. She loves the illustrations and will use it to introduce the language to him.

The book has English and Japanese words for pictures of objects. Helped enormously with communication.

The media could not be loaded.  2 credits of A second language is required to get into university in Hawaii, my sons chose Japanese since Japanese language is a good thing to have here on your resume because there are so Much Japanese tourist.I bought a whole bunch of books that they could use as reference. I speak Japanese but never taught it to my kids, however I speak it to them now as much as possible so the classes are easier on them.Anyway I really like the quality of this book, it is very well made, with strong materials! See video to show quality... not cheaply made at all. Even paper quality is high!The only thing I do wish is that there were more words as far as everyday use like, counting left, right, go, come, up, down, here, move what, colors, greetings or phrases...This one does body parts, career, vehicles, seasons family names, household things etc... which are all very useful but not needed just yet. I’d say this is one step up from beginners, I was looking more for beginners words.. this one has words they will not need unless they knew how to use it in a sentence, if that makes sense?Most the books I bought are very similar in nature to what words are in it, I was hoping this one would be a little different although I must say this one probably has more words than others.It shows the words also written in Hana (Japanese writing)The illustration is a little funky haha but in all this is one of the better beginners pic books.Only reason I gave it for stars is because I was hoping for more words especially everyday words...

I want to introduce my children to other cultures and languages, so when I saw this book I knew I wanted to get it for them. It's incredible - the illustrations are bright and fun, you can learn LOTS of words in Japanese, and learn words that introduce you to things unique to their culture. Highly recommend!

My Grand daughter wants to learn Japanese and this is a great starter book. It has pictures with 3 ways to communicate the picture. It has lots of everyday pictures and words.
