My Mom Loves This Magnifier
Eschenbach easyPOCKET Illuminated Magnifier 152122, blue, 16.0 dpt, 4.0x Amazing technology - this thing is only a little bigger than a credit card and very thin, yet provides 4x magnification. You slide the lens out to use it, and the LED lights up automatically. So easy for my 86-year-old mom to carry in her purse and use anywhere she goes. Works very well for things like reading small-print labels in the grocery store, or menus in dimly-lit restaurants. I should mention that the lens is constructed using what looks like concentric rings of decreasing size stacked one on top of the other, which must be how they achieve the 4x magnification with such a thin lens. I have read some reviews where the people complained that they could see the rings when they used it, but they don't seem to distort the image in any way, and they certainly don't bother Mom. She love it!

Works Great
Works great. Fits perfectly in pocket. Gave it four stars instead of five because it is not as durable as I would like.

No usable instructions.
Instructions are in Japanese. Seller did NOT disclose this. Questionable seller reliability.

This is the perfect pocket magnifier
I have macular degeneration and this magnifier is extremely helpful when reading menus, programs and everything else. The magnification is clear and the light is strong and the size is great--no bigger than a credit card and extremely lightweight. It was expensive, but worth every penny.

Must have for low vision individuals.
Got my first from Johns Hopkins 5 years ago, and lost them this summer. I use these daily, since they take up little pocket space and assist me greatly when I need sonething magnified. Also they are a great buy, since I paid $20 less when I purchased thru AMZ.

I got this expensive one because I wanted to get a good one for my Dad
I got this item for my father, as his reading vision is going. I was debating whether or not to get the 3x magnification or the 4x. I got the 4x, but in hind site should have gotten the 3x. The 4x magnification has to be held just so in order to be clear. The concentric circles for the magnification are strange--didn't know it would be that way. I got this expensive one because I wanted to get a good one for my Dad. I don't think it's worth it. I think the mid-range ones would be more user friendly--where you don't have to hold it in a perfect position in order to get the magnification. I would not recommend this item.

Disappointed
I was looking for a quality magnifier and wanted to avoid buying items made in China. Let me give you a little background, I look for good optics. Zeiss and Leica binoculars, Zeiss microscope, Zeiss lenses in my glasses; so this review is from that perspective. Category for this was listed: Machining -- Precision Measuring - Magnification Instruments, and that is what I was looking for. However this fell far below my expectations. There are circles etched into the magnifying glass that I guess is to make the lens thinner and prevent optical distortion, but in fact made the image unusable for my work, looking at fine parts and measuring. I'm returning.

Very easy to use
Got this for my 92 year old mom who has some trouble reading at night. The eye doctor's office was selling it for about $20 more. Very easy to use. She loves it. And the price was good!
