Great quality video recordings, both front and rear camera footage, and GPS too!
The media could not be loaded. This mirror camera is a very good idea and a good design. It works very well and is fairly simple to install as it simple hooks over the mirror. It records both footage from the front facing camera and the rear camera onto the memory card. Plus this model has GPS so it records the car speed too. Power cables are very long and can easily be routed Bering panels, covers, pillars and roof lining.Installation is simple, it comes with rubber straps which hooks over the original rear view mirror and they stay out of sight at the back. The included power cable is a standard MiniUSB cable on a cigarette lighter adapter plug, but the length is massive!I managed to install the cable from the cigarette adapter socket from near the back seats in my car, along under the floor carpet, up the rear pillar, across hidden under the roof panel lining, and out into the mirror camera. It’s all very neat and tidy with some length of cable left.Again with the rear view camera, I attached it to the inside of the car looking out the back window, and the length of cable on this camera is ridiculously long too. I’ve ran the cable all along the inside of the roof lining to the mirror camera at the front of the car. And there’s plenty length of cable left tucked away in the roof if needed. It has a red power cable which you can wire up to the reverse lamp on the car and this will power up the rear camera when reverse is selected, and the screen will automatically switch to the display the reverse camera feed, and go back to the front camera when reverse is deselected. If you don’t connect this red power cable to anything, then the rear camera will be powered permanently when the main camera mirror unit is powered on.You can have the front facing camera fully displayed on the screen. Is displays a rectangular section (the size and shape of the mirror screen) and you can reposition this by dragging your finger up and down the screen. Tap the button on the screen and a small square box appears at the right side of the screen with the rear camera feed, so you can have both feeds on the screen at the same time. Press the button again and it will switch to display the rear view camera fully on the screen. Press again and it goes back to the front camera full display. The front facing camera is on the back of the mirror display unit, this can slide outwards to extend past the original rear view mirror, and also the camera is on a ball joint so it can be turned to find the right position for the best field of view.On the bottom of the mirror is a button which will turn off the display screen on the mirror camera. When the display is turned off, the screen has a slightly mirrored film so it works as a mirrored rear view mirror again. It’s not a full mirror reflection but it works alright considering it’s an actual lcd screen (you can see this at the end of my video). The video quality is very good, it records from both cameras in Full HD 1080p and the image is very clear. You can select it to record audio from inside the car, or you can mute this feature. You also get GPS speed from the camera too but you will need a special video player to read this GPS information from the recordings.

Good picture quality with 1 glaring issue. Edited
Good product with 1 niggling big issue. So first, great camera quality and good size. I can view recordings easily through the use of vlc player. Now problemsThere is only three view mode, one front facing camera, one rear facing camera and front facing with a small view pf the rear.I don't understand this at all because you are actually covering your rear view mirror hence you really only need to have the rear view on most of the time. It would have been nice to see a main rear view mode with a small view of the front. The big issue for the product I had is the constant turning off of the dash cam. Back to the earlier statement you are replacing your rear view mirror with this and if it's off you won't be able to see behind you.I have turned the screensaver off but it would still turn off automatically randomly while I am driving. I would then have to press the button or unplug and replug from cigarette output to turn it on again. This usually happens 4 to 5 times on a 45 minutes commute and it's annoying.I brought this up and was told to reset the product (didn't work), install a zip file to update with video instructions (instruction and language is in chinese plus the zip file appears to be empty). So no luck so far.I may have a defective product but it is a shame as the camera quality is really good for its price.Edit: They have sent me a replacement one and so far it hasn't turned off randomly. This has been 1 week of use. It may appear that I did have a defective one before but time will tell.

Good DVR, but not a proper reversing camera
The best thing about the camera is picture quality. Both cameras are FHD and it is much better than all the solutions I have seen so far. Display is also big and clear (when you ca see aything see below).Build quality is good. The device works well as DVR and records picture from both cameras. Installaton was easy thans to well organised and long enough cables. That's about it for positives.Unfortunately there are quite a few negatives especially when you are planing to use it as a reversing camera. The rear camera switches viewing angles automatically wher reverse gear is engaged, which is a great idea. However, the reversing mode produces a picture which is very confusing. Most of the time you may think you are about to touch an obstacle behind, but in fact you are still 2feet or 1/2m away. You could point the camera more downwards to see the bumper, but then the driving mode angle produces an image that is useless for DVR purposes. The rear camera is also NOT infrared, so may be problematic at night time.Next issue is the way the device is fixed to the original mirror. The rubber stripes provided are enought to keep it in place, but not enough to keep the screen from shaking.Yet another problem is more related to the nature of the solution. On one hand you would like a screen which is reflective enought to be used as a standard mirror, when the display is off, and on the other you don't want any reflections when the display in on. That's contradiction... And this screen is VERY reflective, which is as much good as bad. I like the fact that the device can be used as standard mirror, but equally hate that it can't be effectively used to display picture on a fairly bright day. Obviously it is the biggest issue when backing up.And finally, the problem with the device itself. My Honda Civic, as some other cars, switches off power supply when canking the engine. It leads to the situation that the device looses voltage momentarily while booting or just after that. Unfortunatelly it does not handle such an event well, even though it has battery backup. The result is that it somehow looses connection to the rear camera. It's like the camera is not connected. The workaround is to disconnect the power cable from the unit, wait a few moments until it switchess off and connect the cable again. It is ridiculous, obviously. Other, permament solution is to install very simple diode/capacitor electronic circuit on the entry to power supply, but that's a solution for DIY enthusiasts .Summing up, the device is great as DVR, but nearly useless as backup camera. Unfortunately, I needed a reversing camera and DVR was just an added bonus. So, this one does not really work for me.
