These are heavy duty suspenders that would be good for holding up tool bags and nail pouches. The wide stiff straps going over your soldiers are not elastic. The only elastic is the short straps below the "X" on your back. I have a pair of Dickie suspenders that I got in 2019. They work great holding up jeans, snaps still hold after 6 years of heavy use. Get the pair that fits your needs. The standard and HD are both great.

I really like these suspenders and really want to give them 5 stars. They are sturdy, they work very well. They fit fine and still have room to adjust (and I am 6'5" and weigh over 300 lb). I got these for Christmas and literally have worn them every single day since (almost 90 days) Being a big guy and overweight, My pants just don't stay up that well, even with a belt. When I'm working, I'm constantly pulling my pants up (which is why my wife got these for my X-mas) Like the headline says, I want to give them 5 stars, but have a couple issues. First of all, I have to wear them inside out, because the clips tend to get caught on things and pop loose. The design of the clips is very sturdy and would not likely ever come off, but due to nature of my business squeezing around equipment, getting in and out of my truck, etc, the clips catch and come loose. The solution for me was wearing them inside out. the dickies logo is hidden, and the clip tabs are inside my waistband instead of outside. No big deal. Second problem is the teeth on the clips although very strong are very aggressive, and have poked holes, and torn my waistband. I am very hard on my pants, (Wrangler Jean shorts), and since they are work pants, not a big deal, but pretty annoying. Another small issue, I think they feel a bit heavy. I feel a bit weighted down. Not sure this is avoidable considering these are heavy duty suspenders. Last issues I think, is that the elastic on the back has gotten kind of wavery? or stretched out of shape. Still has plenty of stretch, but the shape looks wavy and worn out. All these complaints, maybe I should give it 3 stars, but truth is they work great. No more pulling up my pants. I have tried to find some better ones, but nothing so far. Most are just to stretchy and don't do the job. Other complaints about being not elastic... well, these are heavy duty, not dress suspenders, and the back is stretchy, so there is some give. Whoever said they couldn't get them on and off, lol... well they are obviously doing something wrong. I slip my arm and shoulder in and out very easy any time I want to remove my pants, go to bathroom etc.

Iam a heavier guy and these fit comfortably. I use with a light weight utility belt. The weight combined with a 2way attached is about a single, medium electricians pouch with tools. The clips secure the belt with a tight bite. I had to re-adjust the placement and had to wrestle to break the grip. I do not recommend if you are above a 45 waists. Other than that, this is a good product and I recommend theses.

Ordered these to replace a pair of same brand but different style suspender. The ones I use regularly tend to wear out and no longer perform well after about a year or so. And every year I order another pair. So I was a little excited when I saw these hoping they'd hold up better. Was not disappointed in the quality when I received them. Pros: The clamps that attach to the pants are very well made and definately will hold up over time. The leather reinforcing at the clamp area and on the back where the straps intersect is very well made and appears that will hold up under a good amount of stress/wear. Overall this is a very good quality made suspender and I have no doubt they will last a good amount of time. Cons: (1) The straps are wider than what I normally wear and are a bit uncomfortable for me across the shoulder. That is probably more just a personal preference (I like the narrower ones) and something I probably wouldn't notice or mind to much if it weren't for the next issue. (2) The only part of these that are elastic are the two short straps on the back. The main two straps are just heavy duty fabric/belting. I work construction and this made these very uncomfortable to wear during an entire work day. Without any elasticity in the main shoulder strap, any downward force is just turned into force directly on the shoulder with no give. Clip a tape measure on your pocket, put a handful of hardware in your front pocket, keys, cellphone and a pocket knife and all that weight is 100% on the shoulder. Then start bending, climbing, reaching overhead and everything else throughout the day and every move is transfered directly to the shoulder. Every time you move your shoulders up you're fighting against the strap because your jeans are under that bit of a beer belly/dad bod belly (which is why I need the suspenders in the first place) and there is no give thus cutting the strap into your shoulder. Or you try to outsmart that and actually pull your pants up over that pony keg mid section and you realize that was a bigger mistake as you reach overhead and your pants pull up even further and causing you to have flash backs of that warm summer day not long ago and you were getting in the truck only to learn that as you get older, things hang lower and you ended up sitting on you sack of jewels. Needless to say, midway through day two and a mild case of PTSD, the suspenders came off and I spent the rest of the day just trying to keep my pants pulled up often enough to keep the other guys from depositing quarters or swiping their debit card behind my back every 5 minutes. Thankfully the trash wasn't scheduled for pickup for another day at home and I was able to rummage through the bags and find my old pair to use until the new pair I ordered at lunch that day arrived.

I'm 83 and dislike wearing belts. This is my first pair of suspenders with wide shoulder straps (2 inches wide) and heavy-duty clips. I have been delighted with my purchase of these wide suspenders as they have helped reduce my back pain while increasing the comfort of wearing suspenders. To say they are heavy-duty for work is an understatement! They have a very nice looking natural leather finish leather frog through which the shoulder straps crisis cross. I would unequivocally recommend these to anyone looking for industrial-grade, but comfortable and nice-looking suspenders.
