Columbia Women’s Arcadia II Jacket

I was looking for a reliable raincoat. A real one, not one that soaks you after few drops.This is the one! Has been warn in extremely heavy rain and not a drop crept in.Nice to have pull cords to make hood fit securely. Also velcro sleeves make it a snug fit to keep the rain out.Love this! Go bigger if you intend to wear layers underneath.

Fits well and looks great, well made for the money paid. My few gripes are that it lacks a couple of features, like hood volume adjustment, usually done with a velcro strap on the top. There are no inside pockets like I had on my Jack Wolfskin packable, just a vertical drop pocket for papers etc to keep them dry would be good. Otherwise it feels very comfortable and gives a smart professional appearance in Columbia blue.

Just received today via addresspal to Ireland. Where to start - I ordered 3x based on 1st review on the page since lady there ordered 3x and she has the same height and weight. Well packed, light, fully mesh lined inside. The downside - I ordered this jacket based on my research and I was led to believe that the jacket has underarm vents. Imagine my disappointment that was not the case.The fit of the jacket - larger, loose, the length is great, just under my bottom so it covers my critical area - belly. However, I believe, I would be fine even with 2x as it is my size. I am UK 22-24. I still haven't decided if I'll return it and order a different style or not. Great material, the hood is great with an extra shield so it covers my cap. Perfect for Irish weather . I haven't tested the jacket in the rain so we'll see how it hold up. Perfect lightweight rain coat!

I'm a UK 24 and really enjoy walking, and getting out with my dogs. There aren't many brands that do a decent light weight, breathable, waterproof jacket that stretch beyond a UK18/20. This jacket ticks the boxes. I just wish more companies would do this and that Columbia's UK retailers would stock to this size. Fab jacket, ideal for what I was looking for. Good fit, comfortable on my arms (I think they're a size bigger than the rest of me) and a good size hood.

Love this coat. I've had it for a year now and it is holding up to wear beautifully! It was a perfect fit. I bought a plus size and am thrilled to say that the sleaves are even a decent length. (I usually have to roll up the sleaves - but this one was a perfect length.) And it is indeed water proof.

Sleeves to long

For the record: I don't love this jacket, my wife does. I love my wife and she looks great in this jacket. We were a little confused by the mixed reviews on sizing. Many reviewers were posting remarks about the importance of ordering a size up to allow room for a sweater or something similar. Yet there were other reviewers saying the exact opposite. My wife is normally in-between small and medium when buying shirts and jackets (yes it's extremely frustrating buying clothes for her) so we figured we should go with a medium since most reviewers were saying to go a size up. We ended up going to a store that carried these locally to try on the fit. Buying locally at the store would have been WAY more expensive! But it was useful to get the sizing just right. My wife said the medium felt like she was wearing a bag and she'd be swimming in it. Don't know exactly what that means except that it was too large for her taste and not form fitting. She tried the small and it fit just right. Our recommendation is to get ahold of a jacket locally even if it's not the exact model or color you're considering but a Columbia brand rainproof jacket and try a few on to ensure you get the right fit for you to avoid the hassle of returning the product for a different size. I realize that this isn't possible for everyone but amidst the confusion and various opinions on the matter it's what we recommend. If that isn't possible then decide what size based on your body shape and what you hope to use this jacket for. If you'll need it as an outer layer with multiple other layers underneath for warmth then go a size up. If you're going to use it just to stay dry with a small sweatshirt or t shirt with a fleece jacket underneath then ordering your normal size will be just fine and offer mobility.As for it's use, the jacket did it's job holding up to downpour rainstorms in Hilo Hawaii yet remaining comfortable and relatively breathable while having a very attractive appearance. We took it on several hikes and it kept her dry through several bouts of rain. She highly enjoyed and recommends this jacket as a lightweight and very rainproof jacket that has some style and isn't "a bag to go swimming in."

I bought this to wear over an insulated coat to keep the wind and rain out and it did an excellent job. It was cold and wet and this jacket made several possibly miserable hours perfectly dry and warm.
