First, I realize, the AMD supporters will rally and exclaim "The 290x wasn't supposed to complete with this card! It was supposed to complete with the 780!". That's great but thanks to Litecoin, and Bitcoin miners, the 290x is pretty much the same price as the 580 ti now. Price advantage gone. Also AMD fan boys will exclaim how mantle has a bright future. That it alone, will make it a worthy by over Nvidia. Well the problem with that is simple, AMD had said it will work with Nvidia to license Mantle. So advantage in technology gone. This card is just amazing, and the reviewers that say different are either, AMD fanboys, got unlucky and got a defective card (happens with any card) or they are bottlenecked by their CPU, don't get the performance and thinks it's the graphics card due to poor tech knowledge. During the Elder Scrolls Online beta, my 290X, during large scale PVP battles, I am talking too many people to count on screen, got eaten alive, I'm talking dropping to 5 frame rates. Now, you will hear some people say differently, but it my case, it was horrible. There was also nothing wrong with the card, and my processor was overclocked to 4.7. So, I used the 780ti, and let me say, the large scale PVP battles, were as smooth as butter over 80fps. I don't have a 144mhz monitor for nothing, I expect a silky, smooth look, with maxed out settings. The 780ti was able to do this, and the 290x got eaten alive. Also there were other periods in the game, during PVE, where the 290x would struggle and drop frame rates again, random dips, with fog. The 780 ti never showed a slight drop in frame rates my whole play through. This is just one example, of many, where the 780ti is the best card. So the choice is simple, you wait, and upgrade when Maxwell comes out in full force. Or you buy this right now. If you want the best game experience, this is the very best card you can buy. Don't pay attention to the lack of availability of the 290x. That isn't a sign, it's a great card, or gamers are buying it like hotcakes. The bitcoin and litecoin miners, are buying all the cards out. To put into mining rigs. All of that sums up to, 780ti is the best card money can buy right now, if price is not a concern. If money is a concern, but you want a high end card? I still feel the 780, is a better choice over the 290x, even if the 290x's price wasn't inflated. It uses less power, runs much cooler, and is many times faster. Please keep in mind, I have a Nvidia rig, and my brother has a AMD rig I built myself. I'm only going off what I have seen for myself. I'm a fan of Nvidia despite their infamous price gouging for a reason, the results in my personal experience. Those are different with people. For instance my 8350 fx, I love it to death, and runs like a dream at 4.7mhz. I suffer no bottleneck either. Intel fanboys would disagree with me completely. However, my results are my results, and I don't hate AMD.

Let me preface this review by saying I've been building PC's since 1995. I have owned countless video cards over the years from all the big name players including 3DFX, ASUS, MSI, Gainward, Sapphire, ATI/AMD, EVGA, and Gigabyte. More recently I've become a bit of a quiet PC snob. I got the Fractal Design Define R4 case for a silent rig. I don't mind some fan noise while gaming, but when sitting just reading the web I expect silence. Recently I've tried two different 770 cards, and now have tried cards from 3 different 780 Ti cards from the following vendors: MSI, ASUS, and now this EVGA Superclocked 780 Ti w/ACX. With all of that said, here we go...... PACKAGE EVGA really puts together a nice presentation. Everything is well packaged. EVGA has always been a step ahead of their competitors in this regard. Card is snug and secure in a branded static bag. Comes with a driver disc, manual, 2 large EVGA stickers, accessory PCI-E power cables sealed in a static bag (nice touch), and a very classy metal (yes METAL!) case sticker. Very cool. Great presentation. The card itself has a bunch of plastic on it covering the logos and the center of the fans. Be sure to remove all of that! Definitely a premium package compared to what ASUS and MSI give you which is more barebones. The CARD The EVGA 780 Ti SC w/ACX is lighter than both the MSI and ASUS solutions. The ACX cooler is a bit different than the MSI Twin Frozr and the ASUS DirectCU II. Both the MSI and ASUS fans are dominated aesthetically by large heat pipes and their fan solutions extend well beyond the PCB. The EVGA ACX coolor is "form fitting" to the PCB and bit self contained. It fits the PCB perfectly and is a closed off design, mostly dominated by a large heatsink and "EVGA" and " GEFORCE GTX 780 Ti" Branding. Looks GREAT through a case window. What can I say, I am sucker for seeing my hardware looking pretty in my case :) FAN PERFORMANCE Now, I've read the horror stories on the EVGA forums about the ACX fan/cooler. (buzzing, resonating) I've also read the reviews around the net, particularly from TechPowerUp! who were disappointed in the db level of the ACX fan. MSI's Twin Frozr has always excelled in this area having near silent fans under idle. Indeed the MSI 780 Ti GAMING is very quiet. ASUS as well at idle. However I am very pleasantly surprised by the ACX fan! Idle temp as I type this is 29C, with a fan percentage of 29% running at 1179 RPM. Under 100% load, the fans get up to around 55% - 60%. Subjectively, to my surprise, the ACX fans are more quiet than the MSI Twin Frozr and the ASUS under 100% load. You can definitely hear all 3, but the ACX is a more smooth "whirrrring" sound, like a ceiling fan, vs. the slightly higher pitched "tinny" sounds of the MSI and ASUS fans. When I used the MSI Gaming App to enter "OC Mode" it jacks up the fan curve significantly making the fans even louder. ASUS under load is definitely audible. OVERALL PERFORMANCE I don't need to say much here. I mean it's a 780 Ti. You know how it performs if you are going to drop this kind of coin on a GPU. I game on a Dell U2712HM 1440p Monitor. I can max out every game except Assassin's Creed IV, but that's mostly due to the poor optimization of ACIV. Gaming on this card is pure bliss. SUPPORT/COMPANY EVGA is known for their excellent service. Their website is a great resource. Be sure to register your card there. They have 24x7 support, and the Step-Up program. If that sort of thing is important to you then it's another reason to look at EVGA. Being a US based company helps. Like I said I've owned cards from all the big vendors and I never experienced a major issue with support but EVGA has always been very responsive. Last year they replaced a very old 7900GS (lifetime warranty) in my son's rig with a 8800 GT without a hassle. OVERALL Make sure your Power Supply is ready. You'll need 42A on the 12V rail. Uses 1 PCI-E 6-Pin and 1 PCI-E 8-Pin power connector. I am very happy with this card. I know the 800 series is coming later this year, but the 780 Ti will have legs for years to come, and you can always get 2 and SLI them. Highly recommend. I have had this card for a while and thought i would review it by now. i had the Gtx 550ti before getting this card because i was kinda new to pc gaming, and boy is it different!! I play on core i5 3570k and 1080p monitor, i could run any game maxed out on 60 frames per and on 1080p but not any game. (Games performances that are worth mentioning) unlike most reviews here, im going to mention the games that i found this card was unable/keep to run at 60 fps at 1080p -The Witcher 2. it can run all maxed out on 60 fps at 1080p EXCEPT when i turn on "uber mode" then it goes down all the way to 22-34 fps which is not that great. -Crysis 3. it runs just fine but not on MSAA. when i turn on max MSAA it gets kinda choppy and when i measured it last time i got about 30-43 fps -Half life2. nah just kidding, you could run that game on 200 frames easily :p Those are the only games i had some trouble with but every other game that i had including battlefield 4, assassin creed black flag, arma 3 planetside etc. all run on solid 60 fps at 1080p maxed out (if there is a specific game you are wondering about let me know in the comments below and i will test it for you on whatever setting you need!) Temperature/noise I purchased the non acx cooling card before i bought this one and i totally regret it, mainly because the temperature. the non acx one usually hovers around 60-72 degress when run on graphics intense games( such as crysis) which for me personally was not ok! but with the acx cooling there was a significant difference, i have never seen the temp above ~45 degrees which is something im very happy with. the noise was never a problem with me since it never got anywhere near how loud the video game is playing weather fans on 10% or 100% over all pretty solid card, i have never has a single problem with it so far. feel free to ask me about it and if there is a agme you want to benchmark in particular let me know!

After shopping this card for the best price over a 3 month period (late December-March), I finally pulled the trigger as I wasn't seeing any news that the price would drop anytime soon with the 8 series slated for later this year at best and the whole AMD bitcoin thing. I have no regrets. This thing is a beast. I upgraded from a GTX 580 that has been doing fairly well but has finally shown some signs of aging after Battlefield 4 came out. I use a 120hz Benq gaming monitor, so getting >60 fps was a priority and this card delivers. I consider BF4 to be pretty much standard in testing a card and can run the game in ultra no sweat (I will turn down AA to 2x because the differences are minimal for the improved frames). It is nice to know I essentially own the best card on the market, even if I had to pay a hefty price for it. Even this card isn't immune, though. Of course, the game can be very taxing with 64 players in a game and explosions going off all over the place and the frames sometimes 'dip' to 60 or so (just an eye estimate). One minor flaw with ACX coolers that I found after installing the card is an audible coil whirring noise that many others have had issues with. It sounds as if I had a loose wire lightly tapping the fans or something (I do not) and through some research found out that these coolers tend to have this issue. However, I was able to get around this by using MSI Afterburner to increase my fans to a base of 45% (instead of the default 40% I believe) which cancels out the problem. I didn't want to RMA the card since that's annoying and it's pretty minor. Your mileage may vary. Overall, the only problems with the card are the steep price and fan noise (which might be bad luck--fair warning though). If you game enough and play games that can utilize the power, go for it!

Bought one of these amazing graphics cards to have it fail on me 3 months in. RMAed it and waited a week for the fast option to get another one. Unfortunately, that card also failed due to a similar problem. Let's see if three is my lucky number. Now for the positive parts: EVGA is great company that I have never had a problem with until this incident. Even if you do, their customer service is great. I used another card from this company for about four years with zero problems with my previous build. Basically, If you want an amazing card to run games at whatever settings you desire, this is the card for you. With that being said, buyer beware. Having two of these amazing cards fail on me back to back is either extremely bad luck or a sign of declining quality control. My opinion? If I get a third bad card, I will either lean towards the latter... or live with the realization that I should never gamble because I would probably always lose. Update: 6/27/2014 Third card came in and is working amazingly. I honestly think it was just absurdly bad luck to get two bad cards in a row because I have never heard of EVGA dishing out bad cards besides the occasional fluke. Going to bump this up to 3/5 stars and still recommend this card.

Came in exactly as stated, pristine and untouched, exactly what I paid for. Can't really say much else; runs this-gen games like a charm. A note to potential buyers, however: BE WARNED, THIS CARD IS SUPERCLOCKED AND COMES WITH GPU BOOST TECHNOLOGY. Superclocked means that the card comes with a factory overclock, which is nice enough in itself. It also comes with GPU Boost 2.0, which essentially overclocks the card on its own when the unit is under high load, which is also fine and dandy. However, what's not often mentioned is that sometimes, the factory overclock can be a bit too much. Case in point, I tried to play Bioshock Infinite (at max settings, of course) and everything worked fine, framerate was high and such, for the first few minutes. However, in approximately ten minutes, my screen blacked out to desktop and my PC reported that the GPU drivers had crashed. With a little bit of research, I figured out that it was the card itself causing this problem: The peak memory clock for this card is 1400 MHz, and the whole factory overclock/GPU Boost issue had kicked it up, under heavy load, to 1700 MHz. Thus, it shot my card up so much that it killed itself. It's a simple issue to take care of, though: Just download MSI Afterburner or Precision X from Nvidia and underclock the thing (I backed my card's memory down to approximately 1500 MHz). I suppose I could return the device for one that was hopefully not overclocked as high, but it's really not an issue for people who know what they're doing, and it's not that hard to learn, either. Note: As for the issue above, you could also use MSI Afterburner or Precision X to create a custom fan curve for the GPU, but I found it easier just to underclock. Take your pick, whichever works best for you. All in all: This card is worth it if you have the money, and it doesn't have any real issues I can find right now. Just be forewarned, there might be some work to be done on your end to get this thing optimized, but if you want to get your PC to its maximum potential with the components it has, you've got to get down and dirty.

I upgraded from two SLi 560 Ti's and let me say, I'm glad I finally made the jump. My rig is a few years old but I have not seen any issues with this card yet, i7-960 with a G1.Gureilla mobo to be exact. My 560 Ti's did an adequate job, and I could run most games at medium or sometimes high settings, however, they would whine, and under load.. they screamed compared to this 780 Ti. I honestly don't even know what the under load fan sounds like yet with this card to be honest. I know I've been playing ES:O the last few days with it and nothing has even made it peep compared to how my 560 Tis would scream playing this game on high settings. Elder Scrolls Online with max settings doesn't even get the fans cranking on this and I love it. I played a bit of Star Craft II as well, didn't have and problems on ultra settings. I've been so into ES:O that I haven't poked around with the Hangar Module for Star Citizen yet, but I know my SLi 560 Ti's hated it and would lag pretty badly, I'll update this review sometime after work and I've had a chance to test the rest of my higher end games. For now theres nothing negative here, easy install both hardware and software wise. I had read so many horror stories that I was scared to death to put this card with my old mobo and processor but I didn't have any problems. Next step is gonna be to save for a new processor and mobo and then a second one of these bad boys and run everything on max on multiple screens, hah. Edit: 4/4/14 I've tried the Star Citizen Hangar Module multiple times now, I've got 3 ships that show up in my Hangar (350R, Hornet, Constellation) and do not have any lag anymore at all. I'm actually amazed how smooth it feels compared to when I would run around before with my SLi 560 Tis. I'm so glad I made the jump to this card even more now! I've also tried Rome 2 Total War, I ran the benchmark they have included with the game and got an average of 55 FPS on practically all max settings. I'd say thats pretty impressive considering how outdated the rest of the rig is, lol. Edit 12/13/14: I have owned this card for several months now. No issues. I recently played Dragon Age: Inquisition and beat it. I have again the game nearly on all max settings. I have not felt one bit of lag in the game, absolutely love it. I honestly did not expect such a big jump in performance, seeing as I had two 560Ti cards running in SLi mode before, but this card really does kick some serious behind. Now I've just got to upgrade to a new PC to keep up with this card!

I am extremely upset with the fan noise. I had the evga GTX 780 Superclocked w/ACX cooler for about a month prior to getting this one. Now the noise made by the non-TI version is a constant "swoosh" ceiling fan noise which is perfectly acceptable considering it's a GPU, BUT the noise made by the TI, which usually starts at 40% fan speed and above is a mixture of "swoosh" and "krrrr" sound. AND the worst part is the noise it makes is not constant, it's a random "krrr", "krrrrrrr", "kr", "krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr". Basically from the random sources I've been reading is that these cards are cursed with very bad coil whine and it's part of the "design." The performance is embedded in the GTX 780ti itself, regardless of the company who made them it is a beast of a card. Running at 120 fps bla bla bla, ye ye. But I bought this card to keep the noise down. I did do my research prior to buying this card, but I had the exact non-TI version and was extremely pleased by the noise so I thought this one would at least have similar noise performance. I put my computer in my room in a studio apartment, and my bed is about 2m from the desktop. I assume most gamers like me would have a small room, noise at this level is just unacceptable. It's disruptive to watching movies and gaming. Anyway, I don't know if I got a bad unit or is this a widespread issue but only becomes a problem for people with sensitive hearing. I'm leaning towards the latter given the vast amount of complaints. So there you have it. If you are okay with noisy GPU, by all means get this one. If you think noise will be a problem, try others or even go with the reference version. Noise is noise, performance is performance, sadly a balance between the two is not what evga has achieved. How difficult is it to take a good GPU from nvidia and put a working fan with acceptable noise level in a case. I really don't get it, it's like a companny took an iphone/android phone, designed a third party casing that reduces its performance, sheesh. And apologies if I'm writing this with an angry tone, waking up to a new machine I built for a month with noctua fans and SSD noise performance only to be greeted with a "krr" noise is just frustrating.

I got a good deal and I picked up a second one from Amazon. The performance is phenomenal and I'm planning to get an Asus ROG Swift PG278 (2560x1440 144hz GSync monitor). I need both GPUs to keep games in triple digit framerates. I have had no problems with this and its a great and silent design

Great card, runs everything great with my PC at 1080p and is fairly quiet although not as quiet as I would like. I wasn't able to OC as much as I would have hoped, only getting 1200 on the core, but I guess not every sample can be golden. This card runs really cool, mine hasn't peaked over 67 under full load as of yet. I would recommend this card. I haven't dealt with EVGA customer support yet but from what I hear they are about the best you can get. It doesn't come with the Nvidia game bundles from what I can tell, but I don't really care since Watch Dogs is a disgrace to PC gaming anyway so I don't really care but if you were getting this card over AMD because of Watch Dogs maybe look at another retailer. Pros: Stupid fast for 1080p and 1440p Runs cool Relatively quiet Great customer support Overclocks fairly well, but that changes from a card to card basis Looks aesthetically pleasing, but that is personal preference Cons: 3GB frame buffer holds it back at 4k Beat by R9 290x at 4k Really expensive Doesn't include game bundles Could be quieter

Installation was as easy as any other video card I have installed and I can throw pretty much anything at it and haven't seen the slightest stutter. Worth every penny. If you are on the fence, just buy this one. I wish it came with the watch dogs promo but you can't win em all.

Got two of these for SLI and they run any and every game like butter. Temperature stays nice and low too which is a plus.

A++ Will do business again. A generation of graphics cards behind and still running all my games at max.
