Great sturdy product !!!
I bought this PROBASE steel base to replace the standard plastic base on our hoop, and wow — what a difference! The stability is unmatched. We no longer worry about tipping during aggressive play or windy days. This base gives real peace of mind, especially with kids constantly shooting around. Installation was straightforward, and once it’s anchored in, it feels like a permanent fixture — no more dragging heavy bases filled with water or sand. It really makes the hoop feel professional and secure. It’s a bit of an investment, but absolutely worth every penny if you want a safe, long-term solution. This upgrade completely transformed our basketball setup and took the frustration out of backyard games. Highly recommend for anyone tired of dealing with wobbly hoops and cracked plastic bases!

Great option
Had to get a crowbar and sledgehammer to install it. But it was straight forward and sturdy. Converted Sam's club basketball hoop to inground

Well engineered
Impressively Engineered and Built to Last This is a well-engineered and durable upgrade from the flimsy plastic, water-filled bases. I was very impressed with the quality and design. I had planned for a two-evening installation, but to my surprise, I was able to take down my old hoop and install the new base by myself in under two hours. It’s solid, stable, and clearly built to last. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serious, long-term solution.

Great Product! Clever Design! Simple (but physically demanding) Install.
Spalding wanted as much to replace the cracked base of my son's portable basketball hoop as an entirely new unit. Found this for half the price. I did not notice the instructions said use a 10 pound sledge. I bought an 8 pound sledge. I probably had to whack the steel base 300 times to drive it 2' deep into the ground into clay. Would it have been easier with a 10lb sledge? Not sure. But the 8lb got it done. It's no joke though. On my installation, I had a sprinkler line that ran parallel to my driveway where this needed to be installed. Also, I felt like installing this at the edge of the driveway created a bit of a hazard for my car. So I buried a paver flush with the driveway, and that gave me maybe a foot of setback. I can not imagine that this thing is EVER coming up, even if I want to pull it up. Seems like a quality product, heavy steel, sturdy as heck.

It Works!!!
I must admit I was very concerned living is south Florida that I would be able to hammer in the base spike 26" knowing of the hard coral limestone rock just about 1foot underneath the topsoil. Must admit all went well. The first thing we did before purchasing was contacting our local utilities to make sure nothing underneath wear we wanted to place the hoop. Once that was cleared we then made sure we could straighten out the backboard. (Followed the directions on line.) Lastly we started the pilot hole and were able to get the full 26". Product then purchased and arrived within 7 days. Once the spike was assembled off to work my son and I went. It took approximately just over an hour to hammer in between the both of us. (We had the black rubber block which took a beating towards the end but did the job well. We also used an 8lb sledge hammer.) Note.... Follow the online directions!!! The total project took about 3 and 1/2 hours, 45 minutes was spent figuring out what I did wrong and undoing what I placed backwards until I looked at the directions again. As listed in the photo I did not want to place the pole on the driveway so I used a concreate garden stone as the base for the pole. When all said and done was very pleased with product and outcome. Another positive note is the ease in which to remove and place back the pole and backboard when hurricane warnings are issued. (That's how the plastic base broke, by tipping over on it's side.) Also a much cleaner and aesthetic look then with that huge plastic base. Product is quite pricey but like they say "you pay for what you get." Overall, great product and yes I would recommend.

A little expensive, shipped very fast but did well
Make sure you don’t have any underground lines... this cut right though our fiber internet. Not terrible to take out and move if you need to, basically used a cinder block and a pick axe Installation wasn’t that bad. Lots of bolts but if you have a pneumatic socket with compressor, installation is a breeze. I used a 8lb sledgehammer since Home Depot was conveniently out of 10lbs and a 16lb was overkill. The white braces that sit between the black block crack into pieces... also the black block will eventually start losing pieces. My advice is when you start hammering it in, you may think you aren’t making progress but after about 15-20 swings you are good to go. The biggest pain is trying to keep it straight but you can adjust afterwards. Leveling is a bit of a pain, the cheap $180 basketball hoops aren’t the straightest in the world but this worked on our angled driveway. Solid, barely wiggles but will hold up.

Easy to turn, can serve multiple purposes.
I used to have 2 hoops with 2 plastic bases. One for the court and one for trampoline. When we moved to new house i wanted to find a different solution. This was the answer. It turns very easily, so it takes less than a minute to convert. If you try this, put a piece of wood under the pole. Easy to install. Very sturdy, much more stable than the plastic base filled with sand. Highly recommend!

I've had issues where high winds would knock over our basketball net. The last time this happened the base was damaged. After a quick google search for alternate solutions I found the ProBase and ordered it. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and despite being a bit skeptical at how it would hold up in heavy winds, after several weeks it is still standing solidly. I also love how we've completely eliminated the bulky plastic base and freed up room in our driveway.

Pas facile à installer car ça prend une trajectoire exempte de roche ( j’ai planter et retirer une tige d’acier en guise de guide avant d’engager la croix du Probase) mais une fois fait, c’est très robuste et bien conçu. Content de l’achat!
