HP Printer will Say It's Empty, When it's Half Full
You can bypass HP by ordering the extra-large cartridge. When your colored cartridges are empty, your will not have to change out this black cartridge. HP will not inform you of this. They make more money if you replace all of your cartridges. I will never buy HP again. They keep the price of their printers low, so they can rake in the money on their expensive cartridges. It is better to buy a high capacity printer that prints quickly and has inexpensive cartridges. It is much more cost effective in the long run. Also, If you have an HP printer and try to use generic cartridges, your printer is designed to detect the generic cartridges and the printer will fail to work. It will tell you must use HP cartridges. What a racket!

Excellent genuine HP cartridge
We have an older HP all-in-one printer and belong to the HP cartridge club. HP monitors our ink levels, and for a monthly fee, they send cartridges when needed. Somehow, they screwed up and didn't send us a black cartridge in time. So, we were out of black ink. For expediency, rather than order more ink through HP, I ordered a replacement HP blank cartridge. It installed easily, primed and tested the printer, and I was able to start printing again right away. The genuine HP cartridges are really your best option for an HP printer.

Stick with genuine HP cartridges.
The HP inks are always reliable, a staple to have on hand for the next replacement. Using cheap replacements years ago forced me to buy a new printer. Now I use only the genuine HP inks.
