Yes, it is wall mountable!
When I was shopping the various Panamax units it was kind of vague as to whether the Pm8-Ex 8 was wall mountable since the pictures showed no mounts. Other higher end and priced Panamax models did show wall mount brackets. So the big thing I needed and this unit does have is the ability to be wall mounted! In fact it includes the hardware and an extra mount if you want to add other external modules that are available. The other thing I liked is that the outlets are all space far enough that you can plug in some wall warts and still plug other things next to it. The fact that it has 8 outlets, instead of 6 like most, is also a big help. For me this meant going from 2 power strips down to just this one because of the number of outlets, the spacing, and different direction the outlets faced. The perfect surge protector for behind my entertainment center!

Great Product...design is a little funky
I've been using Panamax products for more than 20 years on expensive PC and Audio/Video equipment. I bought this one for a gaming PC. It works well and I have never had a single problem with any of their products. This one is a little funky in design. You can see that from the pictures. They show what you're getting. Still, no problems plugging in what I needed to plug in and it sits just fine on my floor, in the back, under the desk.

Multi-outlet strip and surge protector
This is an excellent product for the money and should provide all the extra outlets you need. However, be careful not to plug in too many devices that consume a lot of power: just because you will now have room to plug in a lot of electrical devices does not mean that the power line they are plugged into will handle the additional load. Today, we are using many devices (particularly at our desks) that do not draw a lot of power, like telephones, small stereos; cell phone and bluetooth rechargers, etc. This strip is perfect for these purposes. But if you plug in a large screen TV or air conditioner or heater, (or anything else which consumes a lot of power) in addition to these other things, you are likely to trip your circuit breaker, or worse, create a fire hazard. Also, do not depend too heavily on the surge protection contained in this or any power strip. If you want to protect your computer or other valuable and sensitive device, get yourself a "UPS" (uninterrupted power sourse). Depending upon the size you need (which in turn depends upon what you are protecting and how long you need the power supply to run in the event of a power failure) you will generally spend $100 or more for this device. Yes, that's a good deal more than a power strip which claims to provide the same protection, but you will thank yourself the first time there is a serious electrical problem on your line. A UPS is also superior to a strip surge protector in that it will allow you to use your computer or other device when the power is out; the more sophisticated ones actually come with software which will shut down your computer in the event of a power failure even when you are not present.

It protected my stereo cabinet during hurricane related power surge
During recent Florida hurricanes the power grid was inconsistent as the grid tried to stabilize following tree falls. I had six or seven episodes of intermittent power loss in rapid succession before the power strip finally shut down to protect my equipment. I had to replace the 12 year old power strip but I’m not replacing a $10,000 system. Worth every penny.

I'm a Max-a-Holic
I've been stuck on Panamax for at least 20 years. Their equipment has saved countless pieces of my own equipment during that time. I first was turned onto Panamax when I owned a computer store and Panamax was offering a warranty on any equipment plugged into their surge suppressors. Those warranties now are now so filled with exceptions and conditions and limitations as to be virtually worthless, but in Florida, lightning central, they were MEANINGFUL back then. We pulled one apart to see what they were doing and we were amazed -- so much more than the "standard" suppressors of that time period.I can't swear that this one is built like the Panamax of old. I will say he has the "look and feel" of those original units, made solid and well thought out. And while you nevertheless an know how a suppressor will work until your equipment is put to the test, I'm more willing to trust Panamax than any other manufacturer out there. Short of standby, sine-wave power, a good surge suppressor is the best defense your valuable electronics have from the spikes and other power nasties out there.

Bet on this brand - they bet on themselves.
Ive had personal experience with Panamax preventing repeated lightning damage to my Dad's TV/Satellite over the years, failing even the utility company's efforts to prevent it with in line suppressors (he's at the end of a long rural electric run, so gets lots of surges with storms). Panamax has been the only brand to succeed - in the old days of Panamax there were thermal fuses in the surge protector that would sacrifice themselves, but the modern versions are very well built as well. Not many suppressors can truly do their job as advertised, but I would bet on this brand. They were good to replace the suppressors when sacrificed, but have warranty that would have replaced the appliances if damage had occurred. This PM8-EX is sturdy, heavy, well built and well spread outlets, perfect for behind an entertainment center, computer desk, etc. Nice long cord.
