Digital Nc 0.45x Wide Angle Lens (HD) Chrome Finish W/Macro (Modification Style) Magnetic Type for Foscam F19821W / FI9831W

I'm fairly disappointed with this lens. The small problem is that the ring that goes on the camera won't stay on. I put it on and left if overnight without the lens. It lasted about a day before it fell off.The main problem is distortion/blur on the outer areas of view. I would not have purchased this had I know the amount of blur I would get from this.I will keep this lens for motion detection of a larger area, but there's no way I could make out details (faces for example) in the outer areas.

The lens works better than expected on my Foscam FI9853 outdoor dome cam. The metal ring and the lens fit perfectly. The lens tether is another nice feature just in case the lens should fall. Will def buy another 2 or more for other locations.

I could not use this lens on the F19821W camera, not because of the lens, because of the camera. These cameras have troubles working upside down because they use a commutator ring for power it looks like. Any extra weight cause the camera to go nuts. But, I tried it on my Dericam H201C HD bullet camera and what a difference. I was really surprised to see the added width and top and bottom view. One thing I did have to do was cover up the wider gap where the lens was because the IR was coming and washing out the picture at night. Was so impressed, I bought another. If you do not use the Foscam F19821W camera upside down, then I would recommend it for that also. Not ht lens fault poor design on Foscams end. How they get this wide of a view without fisheye is beyond me. But it works.

There are no instructions on how to use this item with a Foscam IP camera.
