Not PS5 compatible
Just a warning for anyone who thinks this is a 8TB bus powered drive that may work with the PS5 or non-usb-c Mac.Firstly re bus power... If you need to use a USB-A to USB-C converter cable then then the device won't run off bus power either from the back of the PS5 or from a Mac with usb 2 / 3 port. In this case you would be required to use the supplied power adaptor. and in such case your better getting a cheaper desktop drive.It does however bus power from a USB-C port (front of PS5 ... but keep reading) or more modern Mac.As for the drive itself there are two 4TB drives in the unit set up as a RAID. You have the choice if you get the appropriate software to have it as a RAID 1 or 0.I really don't like this type of setup and especially from LaCie as I've had issues with older units.This is also the reason that the unit will not work with a PS5. It would appear that the PS5 wants to see 1 (un-raided drive).

Pratique
Le disque est un peu mastoc mais il a le double avantage d'être auto-alimenté et transportable ce qui est extrêmement pratique pour le stockage de fichiers vidéo. Les transferts disque > MacBook Pro sont très bons. À voir si dans le temps ça tient la route.

Perfekt für 4K Videoschnitt
Nutze die Festplatte für 4K Videoschnitt bis 120p. Ich bearbeite meine Dateien im Apple ProRes Format. Funktioniert alles super und Preisleistung ist gegenüber SSD Festplatten sehr gut!

Fragiles Gehäuse - Stromversorgung trotz pfleglichster Behandlung defekt
Nach nur wenigen Verwendungen lässt sich der Netzstecker nicht mehr in die Öffnung im Gehäuse einführen - das ist mir noch bei keiner Festplatte je passiert. Bruch oder Deformation. Bei dem Preis und der RAID-Konzeption (Sicherheit über alles !) sehr enttäuschend.Addendum Aug 2022:Katastrophaler Amazon-Service: Die RAID-Platte mit all den Daten darauf wurde nicht repariert, sondern einfach ausgetauscht. Alle Kontaktversuche zu Amazon gingen ins Leere !

Prometteur mais un peu décevant
Habitué des disques laCie de cette collection, j'ai pris ce modèle pour effectuer la sauvegarder quotidienne de mon ordinateur, voulant me libérer d'un disque-dur qui doit être branché à une prise. Mauvaise surprise lors du déballage et de l'utilisation : le disque doit êrte branché sur secteur pour fonctionner, sinon il ne s'affiche pas sur le bureau... D'autre part il est assez volumineux malgré tout, comparé un à disque externe SSD, et sa vitesse d'écriture ne me paraît pas du tout rapide... En USB 3 Il faut plusieurs jours non-stop pour écrire 6 To. Je ne sais pas si c'est dû à l'option "chiffrement" du disque, mais c'est très long...
