If I were to buy three of these, could I disassemble it, take out the pendulum part and reassemble it with the third generation of this spinner?

how long can it go for

if you mean spinning at a time, over a minute, depends on how hard you do it. if you mean overall, i dont know. I got it 9 months ago and it is still working every day

I can't get a decent spin out of it. I get that it takes getting used to, but it still does not spin smooth. unbalanced ? maybe

Sometimes the large part ware you use your thumb and index finger to hold it, can sometimes get lose. You only spin the small part of it. Still no luck, you may have a defective one. Good Luck!

Is there a way to clean the bearings? this is my second, after buying one in September, which seems slowed down a lot.

Yes, just unscrew the buttons and you can gain access to the bearings. Clean them in rubbing alcohol and you should be good as new!
