Great project - beginner level electronic
A great activity to do. Our group of boys (ages 11-13) did it in two nights (total time was about 2.5 hours to complete). No prior knowledge needed. The board had all the parts listed on the board and the instructions were pretty good to follow. One addition we would add to the instructions is about the adjusting of the light sensors. Not much there but if you play with the adjusters a bit, then it will work. I did mine with the two lines almost parallel to each other. All of the boys enjoyed making this kit and want to do more. It was helpful to have someone with some knowledge of soldering as that helped steer the boys along.

Fun little car beginner project
This is a fun little car and can be good for soldering beginners. The only downside I've noticed is the pads peel off the board very easily. I bought the 5 pack and had my kids assemble them. They all worked, but we had to solder on a few jumper wires on every single one of the cars due to the weak pads.
