I bought it during my undergraduate studies for computer science. It is a very basic scientific calculator and honestly, just barely enough. you will hate putting long calculation into this calculator under exam stress. If you are planning on pursuing your math heavy studies, I would recommend to go with more expensive and latest model from casio like fx-991cw which is an incredible piece of hardware to carry with you in exams, it is more advanced and fit more calculation before your equation goes out of display. I would recommend FX-82MS model only to school students or for those who are not into math heavy streams. For the price, The calculator is build like a tank and has a solid built quality even compared to the other better model like Fx-991cw. This one runs on AAA size battery like RO3 zinc carbon or LR03 Alkaline battery, which is a huge plus. with an alkaline battery, like Duracell Ultra or Panasonic EVOLTA, The calculator keeps on going 4+ years easily with heavy use. With Zinc carbon battery, under heavy usage, The battery life is normal and you might need to replace it every 1-2 years. The use of AAA size battery is a heavy plus for this calculator, The easy availability of AAA batteries, allows for an easier replacement of battery although you will have to unscrew like 6 screws to install a new battery. Many later models now run on button cells like LR44, which requires either going to a specific shop, order bulk from amazon or hope that it is available on quick delivery services like Blinkit. These button cells are not easily available to your nearest shop. even then the button cells, the good quality ones like Panasonic can keep your calculator running for 2-3 years at max under heavy usage, that's too if used with proper lighting. and using cheap cells is asking for a battery leak. So AAA batteries are the major plus point for FX-82MS, Although I would recommend opening up your calculator before every exam session to check for any battery leak. If this is your first time buying any scientific calculator, get a precision screw driver, either flat head or cross head, size PH00 or PH000 or just get yourself an entire set, then replace batteries yourself.

Nice calculator. But after the battery is depleted it stops working. Does not support charging or the solar panel that other calculators have. Still it will last upto one or two years

Amazing quality. It is fast, reliant calculator. It highly accurate and easy to use. It is sleek and very handy, almost the size of a smartphone. Mannual is provided, you can check website as well. It can calculate around powers of (10^99) only, but that's doesn't matter. What really good is you can enter it in form that's usually the notation used by Engineers and Scientists (SVPAM). It power consumption is really low (which is nice).
