Very nice!
Most of the time, I wear glasses. Sometimes, for any variety of reasons, I wear contact lenses, or at least one in my good eye (the other is half-blind). On those latter occasions, having a reading monocle is simply handier than carrying reading glasses. While $60 strikes me as a bit steep (compared to reading glasses, which are around 1/5 that), this was a very good purchase. The contours of my face make it hard to keep this little thing in place for long, but it's still great for those quick reads like a shopping list or bus schedule. If it came with a chain and/or case, it would've been perfect, but that lack plus the price are only worth bringing this down 1 star. I don't regret this purchase at all.

Child size Monocle, not for an adult. I wish it was bigger
Child size Monocle, not for an adult, but it was way to small. It is built well, and I am disappointed it wasn't adult size

Initial great quality, and good optics, but galleys are soldered on and broke off.
I was initially very happy with this monocle. I scrapped the chain that came with it and replaced with a good sterling chain, and wore it every day for a month or so, mostly outside my shirt, but sometimes inside. Anyway, one of the galleys (the edge additions that help you keep it in your eye socket) mysteriously went missing. I do not recall it snapping off, it just wasn't there one day when I put the monocle on my eye. Since one galley is useless, I stress tested the other galley, and it snapped right off. Now the monocle is useful only if you hold it to your eye, and the surface is marred from the solder joints being snapped off, one mysteriously and one intentionally. So, if you buy this monocle, be careful with it. It doesn't hold up to the day to day rigors of being on and off your eye many times a day, worn outside your shirt. Your mileage may vary. Optically, the monocle is perfect. It's awfully hard to find monocles that are actually intended to be USED by people with presbyopia. Most are far too high powered with the wrong focal length for reading at arms length. This one is ideal for that, just a bit weakly made. At least, mine was.

Useless!
I could hardly be more disappointed with this item. I found the item here on Amazon, then went to the website to read more about it. I ordered the size recommended for my height from their site, because Amazon didn't offer my size. I studied the directions until I understood them. They weren't very complicated. It absolutely would not stay over my eye.I ordered something I really needed, and received a useless piece of junk. Beware and stay away! At least I tried it for myself before ordering it for a couple of family members. That would have been some embarassing Christmas presents. I took a $50 reaming, and didn't get kisses first.
