A perfect little clock "but"
It remains perfect little clock but I continue to have to edit my review.A few days ago I woke up and it was 2 hours ahead. Clearly it had connected with the server and the time I had set was reconfigured. Tulpa suggests setting it back 2 hours from the default to overcome this. It is something that seems to have caused confusion for other UK purchasers.Time Zone setting is poorly described in the manual but if you set it correctly then your troubles should be over. Well im hoping ive got it right and stand to be corrected. In the time setting mode it will firstly give you the choice of 12 or 24 hour clock . The next press is the Time Zone set to 00 as default. After the above event I set mine to -1. After connecting with the Frankfurt server it seems to have maintained GMT. Hopefully this is the end of my troubles until summertime arrives Sunday 28th March 2021.The above apart I can only say that its a really nice neat and compact clock with a set of features that suffice. The touch sensitive light feature is great as you dont want it light up the room or at least I dont. The alarm on off button on the top is simple to use and the digital display confirms your choice. Perfect for taking on hol with you as well. Just adjust your time zone correctly lol. The Frankfurt server has a 1500km range so keep that in mind.PS Looking at the back of the clock there's a tiny hole that's looks like a reset. Its not listed in the diagram and I cant find any explanation in the instructions. If you have difficulties with the clock it might be worth a try using a paperclip.I am impressed so far and hopefully that will remain the case.

This clock produces ZERO light pollution
The automatic time setting every night by radio signal works very good, in fact best performance I ever experienced (and I only purchase radio-controlled clocks).Usage is nice and quick. It is exactly the clock for the bed site, where you quickly enter when the alarm shall sound, and you grab it to look at the time (or date; so well, kind of interesting to see the temperature, can't hurt). But important to note that THIS version is "dark": you have to grab it to look at it, and at night the sensor button for the light is needed, otherwise you see *nothing*. For me this is an essential feature, since I am very disturbed by any light in the bed room (and I absolutely don't want to fight any kind of AI in my bedroom, deciding for me when there should be light or not -- I want it dark!). So if you are looking for a clock which you can read often, and from a distance, then you need to look for a variation (it seems by TFA Dostmann variations are offered, with brighter light etc). The only aspect which could be improved is that the light, when switched on, is very bright, or at least too bright for me. Would be great if one had control over that. But compared to the many such bed site alarm clocks I tried over the past two decades, this model is by far best, and thus nevertheless 5 starts.

A few issues
This clock synchronises to CET (Central European Time) so if you want it for use in just UK this is not a good option. Adjusted OK with the clock change. The display is a bit bright (as other reviewers have said) BUT my main issue is that there is no off switch. With the light touch activated it cannot be packed in luggage as is. I'm not even convinced that with packing and a strong box it will work. I'm going to have to take out the batteries and re-insert them at my destination. Then wait for the clock to re-synchronise.

COMPACT BUT BRILLIANT, ROBUST, AND RELIABLE
COMPACT BUT BRILLIANT AND ROBUST. THE BACK LIGHT ONLY COMES ON FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN THE CLOCK IS LIGHTLY TOUCHED - GREAT IF YOU LIKE YOUR BEDROOM DARK. THE CLOCK'S AUTOMATIC TIMING IS FACTORY-SET AT "00" GIVING EUROPEAN TIME BUT CAN BE ALTERED VERY EASILY TO AN HOUR MINUS OR PLUS FOR WHEREVER YOU ARE (MAKE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO WORK OUT HOW TO THIS THE FIRST TIME) SO GREAT FOR TRAVELLING TOO. GERMAN-MADE PRECISION, DESIGN AND INVENTIVENESS.

Shows continental time, not UK time
Good looking device, but I cannot get it to show UK time. If you set it manually it changes to one hour fast, automatically, when DCF connects. I have read the instructions many times and reset the clock manually but it always sets to continental time. Does not appear to be suitable for UK use.

HELP, see the review below>
I bought German as I thought it would be great quality, which it is, BUT I have to keep changing the time every 12 hours, as it keeps switching to European time! It's a pain in the butt! The reason I bought a radio controlled clock was so I wouldn't have to think about changing the time twice a year................ now I have to do it every blooming day. This may sound ridiculous but is it because it's German made?
