Simple reliable slow cooker
I bought this 7-quart Crock-Pot mainly for meal prepping, and so far itโs been exactly what I wanted. The capacity is one of the biggest positives. I can cook several pounds of meat at once and have enough food for multiple meals without overcrowding it. I actually prefer the simple manual controls. Thereโs no app, touchscreen, or complicated programmingโjust Low, High, and Warm. Set it and let it cook. The removable stoneware also makes cleanup pretty easy, which matters when youโre using it regularly. It is fairly large and takes up some counter/storage space, but thatโs expected with a 7-quart model. Pros: โข Large enough for family meals or weekly meal prep โข Very simple controls โข Removable crock makes cleanup easier โข Keeps food warm after cooking โข Feels sturdy for the price Con: โข No timer or automatic shutoff, so you have to plan around the cook time Overall, if you want a basic slow cooker without paying extra for features you probably wonโt use, this is a solid option. Iโd buy it again.

Reliable, Convenient, and Makes Meal Prep So Easy
I absolutely love my Crock-Pot. It has become one of the most-used appliances in my kitchen because it makes preparing delicious meals incredibly simple. Whether Iโm making soups, stews, chili, pulled chicken, pot roast, or even desserts, everything comes out tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. One of my favorite features is being able to add the ingredients in the morning and come home to a hot, ready-to-eat meal. It saves so much time on busy days and makes family dinners stress-free. The temperature settings are easy to use, and the cooking is consistent every time. The Crock-Pot is also easy to clean, durable, and large enough to prepare meals for family gatherings or leftovers for the week. I appreciate how dependable it is and how little effort it takes to create meals that taste like theyโve been cooking all dayโbecause they have! For anyone looking for a kitchen appliance that saves time, simplifies meal prep, and delivers great results, I highly recommend a Crock-Pot. Itโs an affordable investment that quickly becomes a kitchen essential.

Great value for this Crock-Pot
This slow cooker has been an absolute gift for my son in his new apartment. He works very long, demanding days, and knowing he can come home to a hot, home-cooked meal waiting for him has been such a comfortโfor both of us. The 7-quart size is generous without feeling oversized, perfect for batch cooking or a hearty roast that lasts several meals. The high and low settings are simple and reliable, and the warm function is especially helpful when his schedule runs late. He truly loves the โset it and forget itโ easeโhe can start dinner in the morning and focus on his day without worry. Cleanup is minimal, which matters when youโre tired. The removable stoneware and lid go right into the dishwasher, and itโs great knowing the insert can also be used in the oven or microwave when needed. The stainless steel exterior looks clean and modern on the counter, too. Most of all, this slow cooker makes it easier for him to eat well without stress. Itโs economical, practical, and supports healthier, homemade meals even on the busiest days. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone setting up a new homeโor to any parent wanting peace of mind knowing their child is being nourished at the end of a long day.

No thrills.. but gets the job done!
Just a basic crockpot, but i love it. Just a simply knob you turn in the front. With the 8 qt I can cook much larger cuts of meat with plenty of room and not even worry about soup filling to the top when making soups/stews. I previously had a 6 qt. Having this extra room is so nice. The lid fits nicely, beautiful color of red. I use the crockpot liners to make for easy clean up, and they fit will with no issues. The warm setting comes in very handy, if dinner is ready before we want to eat. Switch to warm and the food is still hot when we eat it. It's not heavy, so it's easy to move from the cupboard to the counter when i need it. Very pleased with this purchase.

Simple and good
The **Crock-Pot**, also known as a slow cooker, is a staple in many kitchens due to its ability to cook meals with minimal effort. Itโs a versatile appliance thatโs perfect for busy people, allowing you to prepare flavorful meals with little hands-on time. Hereโs my experience with it, including both its advantages and some of the challenges Iโve encountered. ### **Design and Build** The **Crock-Pot** comes in a variety of sizes, ranging from **2-quart to 8-quart** capacities, making it suitable for everything from individual meals to large family dinners. The design is simple, typically featuring a **removable ceramic pot** that fits into the heating base. The ceramic pot is durable and easy to clean, either by hand or in the dishwasher. The **lid** is usually made of glass, which is great because you can see how your meal is progressing without having to lift it and release heat. The design is functional, though some models have **locking lids** for spill-proof portability, which is helpful if you need to transport your dish to a potluck or event. ### **Ease of Use** The main selling point of the Crock-Pot is how easy it is to use. Most models feature **low, high, and warm settings**, allowing you to adjust the temperature based on the recipe or how quickly you want your meal to cook. You simply **add your ingredients, set the temperature**, and walk away. The slow cooking process ensures that flavors develop over time, resulting in rich, tender dishes like soups, stews, and roasts. Itโs great for people with busy schedulesโyou can start a meal in the morning and come home to a fully cooked dinner. ### **Cooking Performance** The Crock-Pot excels at cooking dishes that require **low and slow heat**. Itโs ideal for: - **Stews and soups**: The long cooking time allows flavors to blend beautifully. - **Meats**: Cuts like pork shoulder, beef brisket, and chicken thighs come out incredibly tender after being slow-cooked for several hours. - **One-pot meals**: You can throw in vegetables, protein, and broth for a hearty meal with minimal cleanup. The **low and slow** cooking process also makes it perfect for **meal prep**. You can make large batches of food, divide them into portions, and refrigerate or freeze them for later use. ### **Challenges and Considerations** - **Lack of Browning**: One of the main drawbacks of using a Crock-Pot is that it doesnโt **brown meats**. If you want a deep, rich flavor from caramelized meat or vegetables, youโll need to sear them in a separate pan before adding them to the Crock-Pot. This adds an extra step to the cooking process, which can be a bit inconvenient, especially if youโre looking for a true one-pot solution. - **Long Cooking Times**: While the Crock-Pot is designed for long, slow cooking, the downside is that itโs not ideal for **quick meals**. If you realize at the last minute that you need to make dinner, the Crock-Pot wonโt be much help unless you have hours to spare. - **Overcooking**: Though the Crock-Pot is designed to slowly cook your meals over several hours, itโs possible to **overcook** certain foods, particularly vegetables like peas and zucchini that become mushy if left in too long. Meat, on the other hand, tends to fare better, but you still need to watch cooking times to avoid overcooked or dry textures. - **Cleaning the Pot**: While the ceramic insert is dishwasher safe, it can be **heavy and cumbersome** to clean if youโre washing it by hand, especially when thereโs food stuck to the bottom. Some models come with **non-stick surfaces**, which are easier to clean but can scratch over time. - **Bulky**: Depending on the size, Crock-Pots can be **bulky** and take up a lot of counter or storage space. If you have a small kitchen, this might be something to consider, especially if you donโt plan on using it frequently. ### **Energy Efficiency** One of the benefits of the Crock-Pot is that itโs relatively **energy efficient** compared to using a traditional oven or stovetop for long periods. It uses a lower wattage and heats slowly, which can result in energy savings if youโre cooking meals that take several hours. ### **Pros** - **Hands-off cooking**: Once your ingredients are in, you can walk away and come back to a fully cooked meal. - **Versatile**: Perfect for soups, stews, meats, and even desserts. - **Tender, flavorful results**: Slow cooking enhances flavor and makes even tough cuts of meat tender. - **Convenient for meal prep**: Ideal for making large batches of food with minimal effort. ### **Cons** - **No browning**: You need to brown meat separately for certain dishes. - **Long cooking time**: Not ideal for last-minute meals. - **Can overcook vegetables**: Some vegetables get too soft if cooked too long. - **Bulky**: Takes up a lot of counter or storage space. ### **Final Thoughts** The **Crock-Pot** is a fantastic kitchen tool for anyone who enjoys low-maintenance cooking, especially for meals that benefit from slow, gradual heat. Itโs ideal for people with busy schedules who want to come home to a ready-made meal. However, it does have its limitationsโlike the need for browning meat separately and the potential for overcooking delicate vegetables. Despite these minor drawbacks, I find the convenience and versatility make it a worthwhile investment for any kitchen.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!
I have NEVER written a review on anything, and I have purchased hundreds of items online over the years, but this slow cooker has inspired me to give my humble opinion. I didn't think there was such a thing as a bad slow cooker. So when my last slow cooker bit the dust during the holidays last year, I just bopped on to Amazon and figured that I would pick up a medium of the road slow cooker for a reasonable price and all would be well with the world, once again. Since I was planning on serving a beef roast for Christmas dinner, I wanted to make sure that I got one big enough and it wouldn't take 15 hours to cook. I quickly browsed through the various slow cookers on Amazon, read a few reviews and purchased what I thought was a lovely cooker - Crock-Pot SCCPVL610-S 6-Quart Programmable Cook & Carry Oval Slow Cooker, Stainless Steel. It was only $50.00 and I figured that it would fit the bill, nicely. Boy, was I wrong! Right out of the box, Christmas Day, I could tell that this slow cooker and I weren't going to get along. It heated up way too quickly, ran HOT the entire cooking time (on low), and by the time I was ready to serve dinner most of it was stuck to the side of the cooker. Dinner tasted slightly burnt, the veggies were WAY over cooked and even after soaking the darn thing for 2 hours after serving the meal, I never could get all the stuck on crud off the sides. Well, needless to say, I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree sometimes, so I thought that I would give this worthless piece of junk another few tries before I finally gave up and threw it in the dumpster. Ah, but now this is where the good part starts...Back to Amazon to look at slow cookers. (I absolutely LOVE Amazon and my Prime membership) This time I decided that I was going to REALLY read all the reviews, compare and then make a logical, fact based decision. I immediately liked the reviews I read for this slow cooker - Hamilton Beach 33182 8-Quart Oval Slow Cooker, Black - but was somewhat concerned by a couple of people who said that it "ran hot". Having had that experience, I didn't want to repeat it, so I continued looking at every slow cooker under God's green Earth. I kept thinking that there had to be something wrong with a cooker that was so big and yet so inexpensive, so I kept looking. After another couple of hours of reading, debating and analyzing, I decided that I would give this slow cooker a try. Well, it arrived safe and sound in just a couple of days, of course. (Still love Amazon) And I proceeded to use it today for the first time. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SLOW COOKER! The temperature was perfect! The dinner was perfect! The clean up was perfect! And, once again, I am in love with my slow cooker and can hardly wait for Winter so I can give it a really good work out. If you are reading this and considering purchasing this slow cooker, BUY IT! It's absolutely wonderful. Good temperature, great size, fantastic price and all around, I think the best slow cooker I have ever owned. I'm considering buying another one as a back up. Okay, now you know why I never write reviews...There just isn't enough hours in the day. But this product was well worth the time. :)

Impressed
I bought this in 2022.. sat in my cabinet for years until the last month or so that I've decided to make more meals at home instead of ordering food. Without even realizing this has been the best purchase I've made over the years. The pot is hefty and well made. Cooks phenomenally. Super easy to clean. Its not super heavy so its easy to put away once I'm done using it and cleaning it. I've been making a lot of chili and stew like meals and it has been great. Trying to get all my friends to start meal prepping with this pot because of how good it is and how large it is for the price.

Solid, Dependable, and Reliable
This is the single nicest crockpot that my family has ever owned. I appreciate that it's just, what it is, a simple, crockpot that cooks things slowly. I use liners, so nothing ever sticks, the temperature control is there, the only addition that I would make would be safety latches to keep the top from accidentally being removed. Otherwise this is as safe as a crock pot gets. And I caught it on amazon resale, it was brand new in the box for 25% off, though it would have been well worth the asking price.
