Q: How do you shut the valve off completely?

Hi, When the valve is delivered the TRV has a cap screwed to it, this is what is known as a decorators cap, most people throw this away as they do not realize they need it to fully shut the valve off when they remove the valve as the TRV has frost protection. So if the valve is installed, remove the TRV head and attached the DECO cap and screw down until tight, As for the lock-shield, this has a allen/hex key hole it and will just open and close with a slight turn, please do not "Jam a screwdriver into the hole" as one of the customers has put in their review, using this method on the valves will insure you do not get any drips when you need to remove the radiator.

Q: Can these be used with 10mm pipe?

These can be used with 10mm pipework if you have purchased a pair of 10mm reducers that will insert it to the bottom of the valves.
