They have definitely veered away from the book. They are starting to add some Hollywood plot lines in order to stretch out the story so they can make more episodes. Still interesting, but I miss Season 1.

Season 1 caught me by surprise. A very interesting concept executed beautifully. A strong cast that makes you invest in the characters with strong story telling.Season 2 has some negative reviews which shook me on my purchase. Many reviews claim to be fans of season 1 so I took their words to heart. I rewatched season 1 and had to see the follow up for myself and I'm glad I did. Season 1 was special because it's all new to you. Season 2 continues all the stories. Many characters were introduced in season 1 and we didn't see much of them but season 2 offers much more into their stories.Some negative comments refer to season 2 being sjw (social justice warrior) fodder and I disagree. This has a very diverse cast of characters and their stories dive into diverse problems like racism. I think it falls into place organically and doesn't feel forced or like they are doing it just for a particular audience. It doesn't feel like pandering. One reviewer said season 2 was made to make you feel bad for being white. Come on lol. If seeing something about African Americans being mistreated historically shames you either you have some deep down psychological issues or you're the one as fragile as a "snowflake".The bottom line is season 2 is a good continuation of the story and these characters. If that's what you liked about the first season this will work for you. Its is still sexy and violent. It looks beautiful with some cool graphics. Check it out!

It sucks that u have to buy either every episode and or season

I like the charactors and actors, but the story can be a bit hard to follow. All these gods are just what we imagine them to be I guess. And it's all about what we worship. I.E. technology, sports, food, jesus... it's a weird one. But that's why I purchaed season 2. And, that for some reason it was unavailable on Starz... WTF

Not that it was bad but it felt like a build-up to something that hasn't happened.

Amazing show absolutely love it and the actors so much. Season 2 takes a turn from books a bit more but still adds great concept from new and old ideas. Mad Sweeny episode is beautiful. Not sure why there's no bluray on amazon.Ca but is on amazon.Com

Amazing TV show My new favorite show I've watched both seasons and fell in love, actors put on a show of a lifetime, I enjoyed watching it the second time even more. Love love love love love
