Compass Ligature Woodwind Instrument Part (CLIG1)

This ligature feels pretty good. It actually feels like it reduces resistance, and frees up some vibration compared to my usual Rovner ligatures or standard metal ones.However, the ligature will not stay in place when adjusting the tuning on a saxophone. Might be great for clarinet, where the barrel moves and not the mouthpiece.Tested on soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone rubber mouthpieces.

I am a 40 year pro player, and in my constant quest to get the best sound and equipment I can, I try everything out there I can find. This is the first lig I have used that took 5 to 10 minutes to get the reed properly aligned, only to find that as soon as I gave the mouthpiece a little twist on the neck, the reed came loose. To get the reed positioned, you MUST hold your thumb on the face of the reed with tremendous pressure, because the twist screw will otherwise move the reed to the right. My mouthpiece is a stock metal link. The only way I could even get the thing to work at all, was to have the mouthpiece already installed on the neck, then struggle for 5 to 10 minutes to get the reed in place, and put the neck back on the horn! Sadly, I actually did really like the sound, once I got the thing on there, but it is not worth the frustration. Also, I did not like the mouthpiece "caps" that came with this piece. And it will not fit hard rubber mouthpieces, only metal. Very thin plastic construction, so I can only wonder how long it would have lasted, but you never know... and it does come with a lifetime guarantee. Mine will last forever, because it will never get used!!

Very cool innovative ligature, seems that one size really does fit all; no matter which saxophone mouthpiece you have, this one will fit. It’s a real timesaver too, simply tighten to the last click and you’re done! Another cool plus, they give you three different-size mouthpiece caps, which are made to lock in place using the ligature as an anchor, Nice!

I love the ease with which I can adjust the tension. And it does really seem to fit all of my mouthpieces. What a great value!

Amazing difference in tone with this ligature. Never thought a lig could make such an improvement in tone quality. Much brighter and cleaner tone. Others have said it is easier to change reeds but not for me.

This ligature is great with some mouthpieces. I've looked everywhere for them, but many places were out of stock. This is the only place I could find them, and they are very affordable too! So I bought two - one for a friend who loved it after trying out mine, and another for me to keep as backup.Shipped as promised. Great seller!

It’s a good ligature.

The ligature works fine and in-enhances the sound a little louder and brighter. Side note....the adjustment knob goes under the reed....
