THE book to read on the Robert Durst case!
I consider the ebook A Deadly Secret THE book on the Robert Durst case. This is a very well written and researched book. It is updated as of March 15 2015 and includes Durst's recent arrest in New Orleans. It also considers ongoing investigations into many other murders. Excellent and highly recommended!

Well researched and well written account of an intelligent, bizarre
Well researched and well written account of an intelligent, bizarre, narcissistic, serial-killing millionaire who . . . almost . . . "got away with it." If you like true crime, I strongly recommend it. One moment you feel true compassion toward him, the next you hate him, the next he's almost endearing, and the next he's simply barbaric! What a swirl of emotions! I also highly recommend seeing "The Jinx" as well, AFTER you are done with the book. WOW! WOW!! WOW!!! The end is downright biblical!! Hard to believe stuff like this really happens!

Great!
Finally, a comprehensive and informative book about the Robert Durst case. This is an excellent book! It is easy to read and follow all of the MANY ins and outs of the Durst case. Robert Durst is a very complicated, eccentric man but Matt Birkbeck did a great job telling his story in this "can't put it down" investigative book. He did excellent research and told many facts that I had never before heard. For those who know Jeanine Pirro and watch her on t.v., there are many, many facts about her that I had no idea about. That was pretty shocking to me as well! This is an excellent true crime book and one I would recommend to any who enjoy this kind of book!!

New Perspectives
The subject of Robert Durst and the murders of Kathie Durst, Susan Berman and Morris Black have been covered in numerous articles and TV shows. As a late comer to the subject, I became interested when I watched The Jinx on HBO. This book fills in areas that the TV show couldn’t cover. One comes away with a greater respect for the work of police officers assigned to the case, considerably less respect for Jeanine Pirro and for a number of Kathie Durst’s friends, and a clear sense that Robert Durst was not only guilty of these three murders, but perhaps others as well.

Watch "The Jinx" Then Fill in the Blanks
Meticulously researched, this book is a must-read for anyone following the Robert Durst case and is, to date, the definitive work on this subject. If you were riveted by "The Jinx" on HBO, Matt Birkbeck covers much more ground than Andrew Jarecki did or could in the documentary -- and a much more clear picture emerges of Durst himself and of all the players involved. The book is at turns, stunning, eye-opening and filled with moments of terrifying clarity. This is where you go to learn about the complexity behind the statement "Killed them all, of course."

Very informative and not full of fluff
This book is full of facts about the Durst cases. It provides background information on key people, details not widely known (but when checked are accurate), and is presented in a way that is easy to understand. I recommend it 100%

What a story. Couldn't wait to see how it ended (so far).
I felt an extraordinary urgency to see how this book ended: I started this book last night. I woke up coughing at 2 am and read for another 2 hours and went back to sleep. I finished the book before my first appointment of the day. THAT is how much I wanted to finish this book.Writing style is OK. Proofreading in this Kindle version is terrible (typos, extra words, verb tense inconsistencies, etc.). BUT THE STORY. What a story. Great reporting. The subtitle does not lie: this story is both bizarre and chilling. This is probably a true crime lover's dream, and when you account for the timeliness -- the recent HBO special, major breaking news on the case from just 2 weeks ago, and the fact that this version of the 2003 book was updated with an epilogue of sorts THREE DAYS AGO -- the story (I don't mean just the book, I mean the whole Robert Durst story) lives up to the hype.

Great Book!!!
I watched The Jinx on HBO and immediately wanted to find out more about the incredible circumstances surrounding Bob Durst. This book has a lot of details that were left out in the documentary and leaves the reader wondering how in the world Durst is not in prison! My only complaint is I feel $10 is a bit steep for a book that is so short. Still, I am glad that I bought it!
