Korean Flower Card Game / Hwatu / Go-Stop / Godori

My Korean friend taught me how to play this game. He told me that it is so popular in Korea that every Korean plays this game when they get together. It is very interesting and exciting. There are so many rules and possibilities to earn points. This is not just a simple game. You need to use your brain. When I saw the cards for this game, they looked so small. After playing a few times, it felt so comfortable to hold the cards. I understand why they need to be small. My Korean friend told me that this card game is better than what he bought at a Korean market. As soon as I received it, I counted them to make sure the box came with all the cards. It has 48 flower cards plus 5 jokers. I am going to buy more and give them to my family as a Christmas gifts.

I mainly ordered these cards because I've seen it played in many Korean movies and dramas. Also, I'm a decently calculated card player so I thought this game was perfect for me. After opening the deck of cards, I love the way they look and feel. The back has a nice plastic feel , I figured it'd be great to finally buy a deck and teach myself how to play. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and will plan to buy more soon...maybe as stocking gifts for Christmas.

I remember playing this game when I was younger with a family friend. I bought a deck to see if I still enjoyed it, and I do. The cards I got were great quality. And the art style is as good as I remember. The cards are solid and smooth too. My only complaint is that the directions do not include a scoring system, so you have to research on your own when you’d like to play. Other than that they’re great cards.

Very nice cards

I love these! My parents had an old set that I really loved for the thick plastic durability and I was looking for a set for myself - these cards were almost exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I didn't like about them so much was the watermarks that are on a couple of the cards (maybe like 3 or 4 cards had them, plus the jokers), and the corners are a bit sharp so be careful!

I have played Go-Stop with various decks before and I think that this deck is just okay. For the price, you can probably get a better deck. Part of the game that is most distinctive is flipping the cards over and throwing down, and the material and weight of these cards do not perform like other cards I have played with - in addition, the corners are squared instead of rounded. I also do not like the fact that there are some weird markings on some of the cards - whereas there should not be anything at all. If it weren't for the product awareness program I probably wouldn't keep these cards; I had to rip the box in order to unwrap it too. I guess for practice sake these will do for now.

I didn't really take care of my deck, but after buying a cheaper $3 replacement deck, I realized how nice this deck is! color and print quality is very nice and cards overall has very smooth feel to it rather than rough plastic feel of cheaper prints. I would buy it again to use for special occasions :)

The plastic cards are Nicely packed. There is instruction how to play this cards. Good for a gift.

These are absolutely beautiful cards! My other half wanted to get in touch with her korean roots, so after seeing this played a lot on korean dramas we had to give it a go. It's easy to work out how to play from the instructions but then you can learn in more depth by looking online to work out betting and more nuanced rules. We worked all this out in an hour and really enjoyed the game. The cards are well made and beautiful to look at. We will enjoy them for years to come.
