Efficient, warm, and stylish
I was at first quite hesitant about purchasing this because of the negative reviews but I just decided to go ahead and take the risk. I like this space heater so far. I do concede that the negative reviews here have very valid points though, which I will mention in the latter part of my comments.I bought this because I needed extra warmth in the living room when I'm forced to turn the main heater off from time to time. The forced air heating system in my apartment unit is not energy efficient (my electricity bills during winter are ridiculously high) and my apartment, especially the living room gets freezing cold (I have had to wrap myself with blankets and thick sweaters) very easily and quickly when I have to turn off the main heater entirely. This heater lives up to my expectation, suits my needs, seems to be safe, and looks neat and stylish. You will be disappointed with this one if- You are looking for a much more substantial heater, i.e. something that could warm up an entire apartment unit or a house- You are looking for a heater that could run for a long time unsupervised -- you will find yourself constantly struggling with its sensitive tip-over sensor. All these negative reviews have valid points especially regarding the tip-over sensor. It is VERY sensitive and it will shut down randomly even if it's not moved, tipped over, touched, etc. I place this right beside my desk or coffee table when I'm working on my laptop or watching tv. I don't mind standing up, unplugging it, and running it again when the green light blinks (the sign that tip-over sensor is activated) because it's so close to where I'm sitting. However, I could see that this can be a huge problem for many.- You don't read the manual very carefully. I think the instruction on the manual that comes with is very straightforward and easy to understand, but one will still need to pay extra attention to the manual to understand what the icons stand for on the remote control and the machine, or how some of the functions of this machine work in specific ways.I will probably have to update my review once I get my electricity bill after a month and see how energy efficient this one is. All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Efficient and quiet. And good looking.
First the packaging. While it's easy enough to open, beware of the styrofoam as you unpack, because a remote and six screws (phillips head) are semi-concealed within the white stuff. Once you do get everything opened, you'll discover that the multilingual manual does not exaggerate. You can put this together in five minutes. You'll probably spend more time looking for a phillips head screwdriver than anything else. Anyway, the base, in two sections, quickly snaps together, and then you attach the base to the unit with those screws and your finally found or repurchased phillips head screwdriver. (Those little plastic screwdrivers some manufacturers enclose would've been nice.)Then you're pretty much set. Plug it in, start it up. The controls on the remote and the unit itself are identical (the remote comes with a lithium battery, which you'll have to unpeel to get it going). The manual explains the function of each control. To sum up, there are three speeds. I tested the machine on the highest speed and I can still hardly hear it, and there is an energy-saving eco button, which you'd be foolish not to use, and there is an oscillate option as well--and of course temperature controls. (The unit defaults to 75F.) It also has a timer and a setting that will turn it on automatically if the temperature drops to 45F.My only slight complaint is that in DeLonghi's pursuit of the cool, the buttons on the unit are hard to read, and they're black on black. It took me a moment to realize that there are curved indentations next to the icons for power, speed, etc. Those are the buttons: at first it looks like a touch screen, but it's not. So maybe you'll want to place those little colored stickers on the buttons. But then, again, it's probably easier to use your remote. The heater has a tipover feature that will instantly turn the unit off if, well, you tip it over. You won't. It also has a removable dust filter, which the manual (which is excellently written, although I thought the ending was rushed) advises you to, yes, remove once in a while for cleaning. You are advised to "blow on it lightly then put it back in the appliance." Umm, no. I shall not. There has to be a non-sneezeable method, and I intend to contemplate this in the fullness of time. All in all, highly recommended.Notes and asides:. Review posted after running the unit for several hours. If troubles develop I will update this review.. Enviromaniacs may want to unplug the unit (if you're not using the timer), because a little red light comes on to show you the heater is plugged in, and that might use an extra kilowatt or two over the course of whatever.

Great Product
I love this heater. It does everything well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the item came with a defective tip over switch and wouldn't even start. I could have returned it to Amazon but DeLonghi knew that there were bad tip over switches out there so I thought it was smarter to return the product to DeLonghi. Because the way that it's packed at the factory it would have been very hard to get all the parts back in the box easily so I was greatful that DeLonghi said to cut off the power cord and send it to them with I did. They sent me a new one in about 2 weeks. The new product works perfectly. It's very quiet, ocillates about 140 degrees, and has lots of options which come in handy.

Cant say firmly but its a nice product...
Product is excellent if it works..You will be lucky if you get working piece of it..I bought it internationally, was dead at arrival..But thanks to Amazon for sending replaced unit...But my misfortune, the replacement unit last for not even a month...But again thanks to Amazon who promised me to refund me whole amount..On the basis of the days when this product worked, I can say with assurance that this product is awesome.. And does what it says..But it seems its manufacturing components are not of good quality, that's why it break down...Anyway go for it.. If you face issue, amazon will replace it..

Developed a fault almost immediately
I've had a number of De Longhi products and they've always been good. This heater looks good and when it works it puts out a reasonable amount of heat. However, the unit keeps cutting out for no reason and has done so since it was new. It's getting worse and after only 2 months I'm having to send it back to the supplier in Germany, which thanks to Brexit now means ridiculous Customs Form filling.
