The original. The trailblazer. The Sir Edmund of water bottles. If you’re looking for a water bottle that will keep you well hydrated, hold up against bangs, bumps, and drops, and not leak a single drop ever, then the iconic 32-ounce wide mouth is your water bottle. There’s a reason why we haven’t changed its design in decades—because it works (extremely well).

Great for mountaineering where water can freeze
I got this bottle when I was planning to do a summit attempt to Mount Rainer. I already had one which I sparingly used, but for this trip I needed 2 32oz ones. So I got this additional one. For purpose of mountaineering I need following:-- Large mouth so that even if it freezes a little , it still allows you to drink from it. Also easier to clean.- Use for keeping warm inside the sleeping bag after filling with hot water.- BPA free for obvious.- No leak since I need to put this inside my backpack.Overall it met all the criteria's below. At summit, 50% of the water was frozen but I was still able to use it without any issues. These bottle are durable, I even kept these in my check in backpack while taking the flight. No issues what so ever. The marking can be useful if you want to break it down. We took 5 breaks from camp Muir to summit and I was able to manage the intake considering 64 oz and tried to drink the appropriate amount using the markings. Also I did not feel any difference in taste keeping the water for longer duration. I will report back if I observe any more features or faults with this.**If you find my review useful then please click the 'Yes' in helpful. 8 YEARS later and I'm buying another one
I've used my wide mouthed Nalgene for EIGHT years, every day at every job I've had. We were inseparable. All the lunches we had together, the late nights, early mornings, fears of bosses, laughing at co-workers...ah the joys we had together. I didn't even treat it that well, dropping it on concrete, down stairs, throwing it in my car, and not a single leak. One time I threw it in my car without the lid on all the way, and it reminded me gently with spilled water that I needed to tighten the lid. I've left it behind almost everywhere, but we always found each other. Until one work meeting, left it in the conference room. I'm guessing someone grew quite jealous of our affection, and swiped it! NOO! Truly an end of an era. There really was a connection here. Well 8 years of daily use later is a good enough review for me to come back and buy the same water bottle. :)

5/7
I'll start off by saying that I've been using my Nalgene bottle daily for about 3 months. I've only put water in this bottle, and I only handwash it. I'm too much of a fan of the oz/mL label to throw it in the dishwasher. I imagine it would come off easily, and I like to see how much I'm actually drinking throughout the day.I've dropped this bad boy on concrete a few times, so yeah he'll get some scratches easy-peasy. But no cracks thus far, nor have there been any leaks. Also, the wide mouth is nice for when I want to put ice in my water. The major thing about this bottle is the cap attachement. I like how the plastic cap is attached to another piece of plastic which wraps around the "neck" of the bottle to keep the cap from rolling away, but that loop is definitely NOT a place to hold it from. I used to hang on to the loop while doing my daily activities, but I noticed it was becoming loose. Since then I've stopped, and everything has stayed in shape. I know other people got to the point of that breaking off.Other than that, I really like this bottle for the price. It's big enough to where I don't need to be refilling it constantly, but also at the right size to fit in my bag when I'm on the go. Its mere presence works wonders of reminding me to drink water since the blue color I got somehow makes water look... appetizing?ANYWAY... My suggestion to you, potential buyer of this particular Nalgene bottle, is to prepare yourself to transport this BPA free container by the body and handwash it as much as your annoyance of germs goes. But most importantly, stay hydrated.

A funny thing about water
I carry this thing literally everywhere I go. A funny thing about water: if it's in front of me, I'll drink it. Since this guy holds a whole liter of water, I drink several liters a day! I used to be chronically dehydrated, never drinking water because it wasn't staring me in the face. This has been such an awesome change-maker in my life. Plus, there's nothing as classic as a Nalgene.I personally prefer the widemouth, having previously carried around a camelbak that only turned me off of drinking water. The weird straw on the camelbak, which you have to bite, just felt germy and gross all the time. I couldn't get the thing clean enough. The widemouth Nalgene is a nice change because I can easily get scrubbrushes and sponges in there and clean the bottle out really well. This is especially nice as I often like to make smoothies and take them to class with me during the day. The Nalgene holds a ton of smoothie and there's no problem getting it clean, even after a smoothie.

Defect Bottle
I ordered this bottle for my husband, it was a great price. But when we received it...the first time he filled it up and used it...it leaked all over the place. He discovered where the cap screws on, it was defective...made uneven so that it was not a tight seal. We were going to return it, but he ended up using a metal file on it, rather than deal with the headache of returning. It works now.Other than the defect, it is a good bottle.

Great bottle!
Bought this water bottle as my previous one (a camelbak eddy) started leaking.I bought it due to it being extremely simple design that works! And the fact that it's a 1000ml bottle.I have used it everyday since I have bought it and I have not had any issues so far, despite other reviews stating they found the bottle a little leaky.I had a look at the bottle top and with it being plastic I think that people make have damaged the threads in some way, guessing due to lack of care when tightening the cap. This bottle is easy to clean due to the wide opening and has taken a good beating so far as it stays at the bottom of my bag which is always with me.

Einfaches Trinken eher schlecht, ansonsten TOP

Robust
I bought these for climbing Kilimanjaro. They are ridiculously robust having been dropped many times, leak proof and even helped to stop the water completely freezing when reaching the summit at -15 degrees! All round great bottles. My only criticism is that they should automatically come with the sippy lid that slots inside the wide drinking rim. If you are able to always be stopped whilst drinking, then it’s great, but if you want to drink whilst walking, then you will definitely need the attachment lid.

Outstanding!
Been using this bottle for 3 months every single day for tea. It's simply outstanding. It never leaked or cracked. I hiked with it, walked with it, drove with it ...anything you can imagine. It's the BEST bottle I have ever owned. A+++Super easy to clean and fill up as well.

super ,transparent water-bottle
Great bit of kit , this bottle( Nalgene everyday wide-mouth) will go into our brew kit along with my oasis nalgene bottle which will be paired with my crusader cup . My wife and I are both keen bird watchers and when off the beaten track getting a cup of tea is near on impossible hence the requirement for good quality drinking water containers . The wide mouth is perfect for pouring into either a cup or kettle so no problem with spillage , having read other owners comments on the wide neck I have ordered the insert for the neck so that if a drink is taken from the bottle the chance of spillage is reduced thus conserving our supply of drinking water .

Great bottle
What is there to say about a water bottle? It’s a good size, good seal, feels very durable. I also really like the colour. It’s a classic for a reason

Best investment I made all year
The bottle speaks for itself. Perfect for every situation. A little bulky but that provides not only a great capacity but a durability that is afforded by few other products. That stale plastic smell which is the downfall of most non-disposable water bottles will never affect this bottle. It requires a clean every few uses but that will never become apparent through the taste or smell of the water. Do yourself a favour and pick one up.
