Good quality for unbelievable price
When I ordered the first one I was worried after reading some negative reviews. The main complaint appears to be that the knife does not lock in "open" position. I desided to give it a try, because the price was very low and the size and configuration just right for what I needed. Sure enough, the knife came and it was not locking. I pulled out my smallest file, and 5 minutes later I had a perfectly working knife with real "assisted opening" for about $6.00. Knife was sharp and well built otherwise.I went ahead and ordered several more for my colleagues who liked my first one. They all arrived and not a single one of them required any adjustments. They were just perfect! We use them at work every day and not one has malfunctioned yet. It is a great product, highly recommend.

Wartech and Tac Force make the best "assisted opening" knives under $100 each by far
Wartech and Tac Force make the best "assisted opening" knives under $100 each by far! The 9" "7006's and 7008's" are the sturdiest, most reliable, and effective knives I have ever found under $100. Sure there are other knifes that will do the same or maybe more (a Gerber that I carried when I was active duty Army Special Forces comes to mind). The Gerber was a "Automatic" (Switchblade) and was a fine knife. However, what the Wartech and Tac Force knives do for the price is amazing. Get one and see...you will not be disappointed. The fit and finish are exemplary and while they come out of the box sharp, do yourself a favor and use a 400-800 grit sharpening stone to really put an edge on the new knife. The "1065 Surgical Stainless Steel" used on the Wartech line is as good as it gets. Tac Force uses "440 Surgical Stainless Steel" which is more than adequate. I almost hesitate to share this information, as it may cause a shortage in the aforementioned knives. I will share with the expectations that Wartech will increase manufacturing to meet demand. I am a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S Army, and have seen and used almost every knife imaginable in one form or another. These Wartech and the Tac Force knives are the real deal.

Construction of knife is solid. Most, if not all, of it seems like steel or aluminum. The glass breaker breaks glass, but I have not been able to test the seatbelt cutter. The distribution and general weight is just right. The spring assist can be tight at first, so it can be difficult to close, but after a couple days of use, it eventually loosens. The blade does not come out of the box very sharp, but it is very easy to sharpen. The serrated edge works on the other hand, is very sharp and works flawlessly. It makes a very distinct sound when opening. All in all, a steal for under $10.

Worked great for a year
The media could not be loaded. This was a great knife for the first year. It was rarely used and just stayed in my waistband when I went out. It was very comfortable and I did not even know it was there but after about 14 months it no longer springs open and the blade no longer locks in the open position making it totally useless.

Recommend Highly
What you see is what you get, yet it exceeded my expectations.I like to keep a pocket knife on me and this particular knife has a glass breaker, seatbelt cutter, and pocket clip so the more uses, in my opinion, the better.Sturdy- For 7 bucks i wasnt expecting it to be so sturdy. I could put this knife through some hell and I think it would still keep together and get the job done. The blade is nice, it has serrations (good for cutting fishing line, harder materials, etc.) a straight blade (opening packages, prying, the usual) and the back of the blade has a lengthy saw back (small limbs and branches)the downside is the weight. It is a heavier knife, most of the weight resides in a sturdy handle so its not very balanced. The balance point is about halfway down the handle.the locking mechanism is very strong and can take some effort to close the blade but overall, for 7 bucks your getting one hell of a knife.

Starts out as a good tool, BUT...
My first review of this knife was glowing with praise. Reviews should not be written until after using an item for a few weeks or months. Three of these knives in a row broke with the same problem--the blade stopped locking open--good way to get your fingers cut off. The third in the series also will not close--the blade swings between open and half-closed. I've bought eight Tac-Force knives over the years--the spring on every one of them broke after a few months of use. I have finally learned my lesson. Not only a waste of good money, but really dangerous. You do get what you pay for, but missing body parts should not be part of the price. My knives are tools as well as self-defense weapons--I use them a lot on the farm. I need reliability.

Nice, inexpensive knife for hiker, campers, and climbers!
Okay, I'm not a big knife person, but this is a nice knife for climbing or camping. When hiking or camping a good knife is an essential tool for a successful trip. It's a must have tool for setting up a camp, when preparing dinner, or heaven forbid -- having to defend yourself against a predator! A knife is just one of those must have tools for any serious hiker or camper. What I liked about this life is that it has safety built in -- it would not be an easy knife for a child to get the blade out. However, that said, it can be VERY difficult for someone who doesn't know about knives to put the blade back down. So, anyone who's going to be around the knife and might get curious needs to know how it works, and needs to have a healthy respect for the damage a knife can do to person or property. If those criteria can't be met, when not in use, it should be kept either locked in a safe, or very well out of the reach (and sight.. better yet, knowledge) of children! They get curious, and that is just too dangerous to have around and within their reach.Recommended for avid campers, hikers, and/or climbers! Sharpen as needed! Keep maintained for best use.
