I've had to replace these three times now and this is the best brand, by far, that I have used. It works perfectly on my 1998 Jeep Cherokee and I especially like the quick deploy when you open it but then it continues to slowly lift up all the way. It also did not affect the pressure needed to close the hatch, which was a bit of a welcomed surprise. Very quick install.

Awesome. My husband installed them and now we can open and shut the hatch. Before I had tennis rackets to hold it up. Its very nice to be able to put groceries in there with no fear of it falling on me.

Work well when’s it’s above freezing. Gate doesn’t want to stay up in the cold.

I bought these because my old ones would hold up in the cold, we just recently had a negative thirty windchill, and they did not hold. No biggie though, I just thought they would be better.

I'd put Zero stars if available.* For some reason Amazon has these listed as non-returnable. That means if they don't fit you can't return them. That wouldn't be an issue except...* These DO NOT FIT 1998 Cherokee's. Happy to post pictures showing just how incorrect the fitment chart is for these. Unless you you are absolutely sure these fit stay away and order elsewhere.
